Chris Columbus hasn't worked on the Harry PotterPercy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Columbus says
that it has "been a joy to watch Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint graduate to bigger and better things."
Columbus adds:
My biggest pride is seeing the pictures now, and watching the three of them from a distance, and seeing them do an entire scene in one shot. Seriously, I know that sounds funny, but in the old days -- and, you know, the old days meaning eight years ago -- and in that first picture in particular, it’s filled with cuts because they couldn’t really get beyond the first line without either looking into the camera, laughing or looking at the lights.

First post!!! (I think?)
I loved Chris Columbus!! They were beautifly directed, and reflected the books perfectly. I wish he would have stuck around to do all 8 movies. although im not sure he would have wanted to have split the last one haha! He is my absolute favorite!

He and Yates were my favorite. Now, I know that many people don't like Yates, but please don't rip me apart just because my opinion's different. And, mrsharrypotter4500, I wish he stuck around too. And, annie101 , I agree that he was the best.

Haha, I love the picture with Dan mimicking him. He was SUCH a great director. I really loved him. And I agree with the above posts - it would have been so great to see him stick around. He definitely was the best. But I do like all the HP movies overall...
I can't imagine how close all the actors/actresses must feel. It's probably like a little family on set. Haha. :)

I think Chris Columbus was terrific directing the first two movies. Part of me wishes he had stuck around for the other films, it makes me wonder how different they would have been. But each director brought something special to the films.

Nice to see him speak from time to time. My guess is that he will get involved with the DVDs once the movies are done. I am sure there will be director's cuts and interviews.

Hecate3fold says:
I suppose the perspective that he has is almost unique in a way. Being able to watch three young people mature over the years, and, to perfect their acting skills along the way.
If I remember right, he is the one who has a candid photo of Dan and Rupert that was taken on the first day that they met. They were just walking and getting to know each other. I'm sure it's something he cherishes greatly.
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

What a lovely interview. <3
I love Percy Jackson books, I'm quite excited they're making a film and can't think of a better person to produce them than Chris Columbus. =)

He and Yates are my favorites. The thing I really liked about Columbus is that he kept the plot really canon, which was easier to do on the first films. I'm glad he was able to play a part in the film series.
