In a new interview
with WAAF's radio morning show, Ciaran Hinds (Aberforth Dumbledore) talked about filming the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows installments.
He says of his filming role:
Basically I'm there to play one long scene where I explain to the kids - who are not kids anymore - about some part of the history of Albus Dumbledore's life that they weren't fully up to the mark in. But I did get, for one split second, someone put a wand in my hand and I got to flash it.
He also mentions that while he is mainly in Part: II, you may catch a "flash of his eye" in Part: I. He is undoubtedly referring to a scene in which Harry sees his eye in the Sirius' two-way mirror.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I & II are set for Nov. 19, 2010 & July 15, 2011, respectively.

I do hope we will also see him in the battle. I think it was really important that he decided to fight after all he had said to Harry.

Interesting actor pick. Should be fun to see how he plays out. It is an important, yet small role. Can hardly wait for the films to come out.

He's the wayward brother. Wow! He's going to be great. I have loved his work for years and it's a good bit of casting.

I'm glad it was clarified who he was playing in the movie. I never would have guessed.
If he is only having one scene where he is only talking, explaining, how are the trio going to get into the Hogs Head and into the mirror? Seems like there is a lot of re-writes going on.
I've almost given up. They are way beyond following the plot of the books. It's too late anyway the filming is almost done. I guess we will just have to take what they give us and hope there is some familiarity to it.
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

I know we've had a few spoilers where the book is going to be split, but now I'm going to have to reread DH to see how far apart Aberforth's "parts" are. From what I remember, there is a pretty big gap between Malfoy Mansion and when they meet up with him under the invisibility cloak. Oh well, not like I need a reason to reread the book!

Feelin' Felix Felicis says:
How wonderful he will have some good on screen time in Deathly Hallows and they put the part with Harry seeing who he thought was Dumbldore's eyes, yes! Since they are making it into two films I was hoping they wouldn't leave anything out. I'm not sure who this actor is so I will have to look him up. I am very anxious to see DH, I can't wait!
