Rowling named 'best paid author' Popular (6446)

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is the best paid author in history, according to a list of Britain's top earnersopens in new window.

The author, whose has sold 230 million books worldwide, came fifth in the Sunday Times list of the UK's top 500 earners. Rowling, currently writing the sixth Potter book, earned £125m ($211m) last year - the equivalent of £388 ($658) for each word in this year's Order of the Phoenix.

Meanwhile, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, was the youngest entrant on the list earning a reported £1.75m ($2.9m) in 12 months.
