Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is the best paid author in history, according to a list of Britain's top earners

The author, whose has sold 230 million books worldwide, came fifth in the Sunday Times list of the UK's top 500 earners. Rowling, currently writing the sixth Potter book, earned £125m ($211m) last year - the equivalent of £388 ($658) for each word in this year's Order of the Phoenix.
Meanwhile, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, was the youngest entrant on the list earning a reported £1.75m ($2.9m) in 12 months.

Wow! I can't believe she gets paid that much money! Well, she donates a lot of it to charities and such, so that's pretty nice of her. Daniel's earning quite a bit, too! I wonder how much Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are getting. I hear that they're getting a lot less, but maybe not.
I wish I was able to earn that much money though!

I know Daniel is making quite a bit for each film so far. What I have read about Emma and Rupert's salaries has been grim - not nearly half of what they deserve! I sure hope WB was more giving this time - with them signing on for film 4. Daniel is a good actor, but his character wouldn't be so good if he didn't have Ron and Hermione.

Wow! That is sooo much money! Sheesh! But I agree with some people in that she very much deserves it and I'm very happy for her. And I am surprised as well as to how much Dan is making. He is so young too! I wish I had that much money. But oh well, I'm happy for both of them. :-)

That is A LOT of money. Crazyness. Who knew this book would be so popular? I never did. I mean, i will have to admit (no one beat me up) I used to think Harry Potter was soo stupid! I used to make fun of people who read it. Then my sister made me watch the first movie. Since then i have been obsessed! Knowing all the characters real names and stuff. My mom thinks i a crazy. But this just shows how all aspects of harry potter, movies or books can make it even more popular! Thanks JKR~

She has a lot of charities she donates money too - I can't think of the name at the moment, but her mother died of an ilness (MS I think) and that is her biggest charity.
Than there are other charities as well.
She did just buy a house in Tasmania (of the coast of Australia). But I would too if I had the money - all that lovely sunshine and sea!
