J.K. Rowling, author of the popular "Harry Potter" series, revealed her favorite scene from the "Deathly Hallows" novel when she contributed to "The Birthday Book," published to mark the 60th birthday of the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles. All proceeds from the sale of the book go to charity.

With 2007 slowly coming to a close, the last book in the "Harry Potter" series, "Deathly Hallows," has been chosen by 'USA Today' as their book of the year stating that: "Hallows" is the book of the year because Rowling gave her story an ending that was as graceful, unpredictable and satisfying as the series itself."

Actresses Katie Leung and Evanna Lynch from the "Harry Potter" movies recently gave their personal thoughts on the last book in the series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." While Evanna realized that her theories were "rubbish" she was happy to be correct about Prof. Snape. Ms. Leung adds that she hoped that her character, Cho Chang, had finally found happiness and has gotten over Harry and Cedric.

Last July we told you of a documentary on "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling and that it was set to air in the UK this winter. A description of the show is now available and will include scenes of when JK turned over the completed manuscript of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," interviews with the author, her publishers and her husband, Dr. Neil Murray.

Spanish translation of 'Deathly Hallows' set for February 21st  Comments (33)
The Spanish translation of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" (Harry Potter y Las Reliquias de la Muerte) has been announced for February 21st in Spain, U.S. and Latin America according to publisher Salamandra. The translator will be Gemma Rovira and Catalan, Valencian and Galician translations will be released on the same day.

France and German translations of 'Deathly Hallows' sell strong  Comments (37)
The French and German translated versions of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" were released this past weekend and according to the publishers out sold copies of "Half-Blood Prince" during their first weekend of sales. The French version sold 1.15 million copies in 48 hours, while the German version sold one million copies in 24 hours in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

While attending the International Festival of Authors in Toronto today, "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling continued to field questions on the recently revealed information that Dumbledore was gay. In answering the press about the timing of the revelation, Ms. Rowling stated "I was asked a very direct question at Carnegie Hall." Update: Video of Jo's press conference is now online.

Author J.K. Rowling will be in Toronto today for an appearance at the International Festival of Authors. The event, the last city visit of her "Open Book Tour" where she will answer questions from fans and hand out complimentary signed copies of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." There will also be a press conference before the event, where questions about her latest revelation are bound to come up.

J.K. in NYC for last leg of U.S. 'Open Book Tour'  Comments (30)
J.K. Rowling, author of the "Harry Potter" series, is in New York City today to finish her "Open Book Tour" in the U.S. by meeting with students at Carnegie Hall. This morning's event was attended by 1,600 students and the author read a chapter from the last book, "Deathly Hallows." Rowling also answered some questions. Tonight at 7 p.m., Jo will give a reading and answer additional questions from the 1,000 winners of Scholastic's recent competition.

J.K. Rowling, author of the "Harry Potter" series, stopped in New Orleans on her "Open Book Tour" today where she was greeted by over 1,500 students from 80 New Orleans-area public schools. JK read the first chapter of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" and answered questions from the audience.

During her press conference kicking off her "Open Book Tour" in Los Angeles, JK Rowling discussed the religious themes through all of the "Harry Potter" books and answers that she could not have put too much into the books because most readers would have guessed the parallels with religion, specifically Christianity, before the release of the last book, "Deathly Hallows." She also mentions that the actors from the movies had some information in reference to their characters roles in the last book. Update: In report from the press conference Jo talks about certain deaths, Dumbledore and free time.

Update: JK in Los Angeles to start 'Open Book Tour'  Comments (51)
Currently "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling is in Los Angeles on her first stop for her "Open Book Tour." The first event, with over 1,600 students Los Angeles students, is scheduled to start shortly with JK reading from the last book in the series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," as well as taking questions from the audience. She will then make stops in New Orleans, New York and lastly, to Toronto to attend the International Festival of Authors on October 24th. On a related note, JK will not be doing any additional press or interviews for this tour except for a press conference while in Los Angeles. Update: Early reports and photos from the event are now appearing online.

Additionally, the fifth movie, "Order of the Phoenix," is one of 10 nominations in this year's 'Hollywood Movie Awards' from Yahoo! Movies.
