The two nights of "Harry, Carrie and Garp" at Radio City Music Hall in New York City last week had most of us in attendance scribbling notes, sneaking photos and reflecting. Unfortunately that meant we didn't have the complete, exact text of what JK Rowling said in response to fan questions... until now.

War would upend plans of publishers and retailers  Comments
Book publishing is almost entirely dependent on the free publicity that authors receive in newspapers and on television and radio. On important programs, the time devoted to entertainment features will shrink considerably if a war occurs. Publishers and authors are getting very worried about the possilibity of war in Iraq. After Sept. 11, book sales plummeted. Even established authors like Stephen King were badly hurt, as TV appearances and press releases were bumped.
