HP Fan Trips covered in 'Muggles and Magic'
George Beahm's recent book "Muggles and Magic" contains an entire chapter about HP Fan Trips, covering the 2004 and 2005 trips in detail and including several pictures by Catherine Collins, who went on the trips and works for various fan sites. Several of the 2006 tours are already more than 50% full.

Pottering around Britain 'Hogwarts' style
A bunch of fan sites were mentioned yesterday in a New Zealand Herald article detailing the different options available when considering a "Harry Potter" themed tour of the United Kingdom. HP Fan Trips received a nod and was included among other tours, detailing their special "Quidditch" game and exclusive ride on steam engine #5972 (the actual "Hogwarts Express" train from the movies).

Winner selected for 'Ultimate' Harry Potter trip to Britain

Harry Potter fans to ride real 'Hogwarts Express' train in Britain
HP Fan Trips, which is organizing the first-ever Harry Potter fan-created vacation package this June, has announced they have secured a contract to commission the West Coast Railway Company's engine #5972, better known to millions worldwide as the "Hogwarts Express". Trip participants will get to ride on the train and have access to a candy trolly and other goodies.

'Ultimate' HP fan appreciation contest announced
Wizarding World Press, publisher of the "Ultimate Unofficial Guide to Harry Potter" books, is running a contest through March 15, 2004 in which they'll be giving away a trip for two on the premiere HP Fan Trips weekend tour. The winners will join actor Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley in the films) in Britain to watch "Prisoner of Azkaban" the weekend it opens and hear tales from behind-the-scenes afterward. Cash and book prizes are also to be awarded.

Convention Alley and HP Fan Trips news
The organizers of fan groups Convention Alley and HP Fan Trips made announcements today concerning their upcoming 2004 events. The official site for ConventionAlley has been released, along with the opportunity to register, and chaperones are now available for minors who want to go on the first HP Fan Trip without a parent (but with permission, of course).

Films spark tourism and travel
Along with the likes of "Lord of the Rings" and "Lost in Translation", the Harry Potter movies have spurred agencies and operators to create tour packages in response to travel interest from moviegoers.

Spend a weekend with Chris Rankin, tour Britain the Harry Potter way
HP Fan Trips - a new organization - has announced their 2004 tour, a package featuring planned events in Britain, a weekend with Harry Potter actor Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley), a magical land-based Quidditch game, a Hogwarts-style feast and more, all coinciding with the premiere of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" next June.
