'Potter' stars attend 'Music from the Movies' in London  Comments (44)
Earlier this evening "Harry Potter" stars Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane and director Mike Newell attended the 'Music from the Movies,' a concert to aid the UK's leading blood cancer charity Leukaemia Research at the Royal Albert Hall. All the music performed at the concert was written by "Goblet of Fire" film composer Patrick Doyle; himself a leukemia survivor.

Yesterday evening "Harry Potter" author JK Rowling appeared in a video that was shown on the South Bank Show, which had a feature on Robbie Coltrane. The video opens with Robbie discussing his astonishment of the fans love for his character, scenes from the films and JKR discussing why Robbie was Hagrid.

Robbie Coltrane, who portrays Hagrid in the "Harry Potter" movies, visited the U.S. earlier this week to promote his next venture, "Cracker: A New Terror." It has been over 10 years since Robbie stared in a "Cracker" movie but did not have to think hard to reprise the role. Of interest to "Potter" fans is the fact that Coltrane has recently finished filming his scenes for "Order of the Phoenix."

Fellow actor Imelda Staunton rumored to portray Prof. Umbridge in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" joined Mr. Coltrane on the list.

GMTV recently aired a behind-the-scenes special with the cast and crew of the "Goblet of Fire" film, which was hosted by Ben Shepard. The first segment of the special is now available to view online featuring clips from the movie; interviews with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Robbie Coltrane, producer David Heyman, and director Mike Newell; and a visit to the set in-between film shoots. UPDATE: The second, third and fourth segments are now available for download.

To answer Hollywood's Walk of Fame, the UK has unveiled the Avenue of Stars in central London. Stars from the last 50 years in entertainment honored included "Harry Potter" actors Dame Maggie Smith, Julie Walters, John Cleese, Robbie Coltrane, Kenneth Branagh, Lenny Henry, Eric Sykes and Sir Michael Gambon.

Cast members from the “Harry Potter” movies are lending their support to LEPRA, a leading UK medical charity that supports fighting Leprosy, HIV, and AIDS world-wide. Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane, Emma Thompson and Zoë Wanamaker as well as “Harry Potter” narrator Stephen Fry all donated signed books for “The Big Book Auction,” which begins today on eBay and ends on November 27th.

Harry Potter stars Michael Gambon, Robbie Coltrane, Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson and Zoë Wanamaker are among the stars who have created Christmas cards for the Foundation for the of Infant Deaths. Michael Gambon sketched a Santa Claus with the words “Father Christmas after pay the congestion charge.” The hand-drawn cards by the stars is one-off creation and will be auctioned off on Nov. 15 in Kensington Town Hall in London.
