More on 'Wizarding World of Harry Potter' in Orlando  
An interesting article appeared online today with a great description of what fans can expect at the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" at Universal in Orlando, Florida. The article mentions that there is a possibility that previews will happen "as early as Christmas 2009 and officially will open summer 2010," and that by reviewing patents you are able to gleam what may be included at the site.

Also available is a new poll asking fans which magical refreshment they would prefer to order (one is already heavily favored in the results).

Recent 'Potter' news debunked  
Those who know have recently debunked recent news articles appearing around the world involving different aspects of "Harry Potter." No Emma Watson for Chanel, no early release date for the "Half-Blood Prince" video game and finally no that J.K. Rowling has written a film script for the theme park at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Sorry folks.

J.K. Rowling hosts MS charity event  
J.K. Rowling, author of the "Harry Potter" series, helped to raise £320,436 ($628,372) for multiple sclerosis at a charity event this past weekend. One of the items up for auction was the chance to be immortalized as a wizard or witch in a portrait at the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Florida.

'Wizarding World of Harry Potter' to open at Universal Orlando in 2010    
Warner Bros. and Universal Orlando Resort have officially confirmed (finally!) they will be opening an entire "theme park in a park" based on the world of JK Rowling's Harry Potter" in 2010, just before the final film is released. The attraction will include thrill rides, specialized foods, experience-based 'textural' features and more. UPDATE: Video online.

Update: 'Potter' theme park in talks    
As first reported by Deadline Hollywood Daily, advanced discussions are taking place for an elaborate "Harry Potter"-themed adventure park on Universal's Orlando property. The Scotsman reported Sunday that a former executive revealed detailed plans of the project, worth an estimated $500 million. UPDATE: HPANA can confirm that JK Rowling has been in talks with Warner Bros. about a themed attraction for "several" years.

JK & Disney partners?    
An interesting piece of news has appeared online this morning pointing out that JK Rowling has signed a letter of intent, giving Disney the right to begin preliminary development of a theme park-related project featuring the "Harry Potter" characters. Update: Rowling's representatives have denied this information.

HP theme-park speculation continues  
Although AOL Time Warner has claimed the rights to any possible 'Harry Potter' theme-park attractions, rumors are still circulating that both Universal and Disney were persuing those rights - and that Universal was told, "Thanks but no thanks. We've already awarded the theme park rights to someone else." The question remains - who actually has the rights?

There has been speculation that either Universal or Disney were making plans for a possible "Harry Potter" theme-park attraction - but according to AOL Time Warner, it's not going to happen any time soon.
