Once again ABC Family will be showcasing "Harry Potter" movies during their annual '25 Days of Christmas' schedule. The first four movies will be broadcast during the December 4th - 6th weekend, just before the release of the "Half-Blood Prince" DVD on December 8th as well as exclusive footage from 'Creating the World of Harry Potter' and an advanced look at the 'Close Up with the Cast' piece with. Evanna Lynch.

Following the report that "Harry Potter" extended editions were expected to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray, we can now confirm that this is indeed the case, with all eight films set to be released as "Ultimate Editions," and "Sorcerer's Stone" and "Chamber of Secrets" set for a release date of December 8.

The first film in the "Harry Potter" series has been voted favorite film by children in Britain. The vote, conducted by First Light Movies, the young people's filmmaking arm of the UK Film Council, received 34 percent of the vote, followed closely by "Prisoner of Azkaban" with 32 percent.

All 'Potter' DVDs to be available in HD DVD  Comments (128)
Last July we were one of the first to tell you that Warner Bros. had plans to pull all the first four "Harry Potter" DVDs off store shelves by early 2007. The first three movies were pulled from shelves by December 29, 2006, with "Goblet of Fire" following suit on February 9, 2007. Earlier this morning WB announced that all the movies would be available in HD sometime this year.

Warner Bros. has confirmed to HPANA that it plans to pull all of the first four "Harry Potter" DVDs off store shelves by early 2007, with no announced plans for their return. First reported by Home Media Retailing Magazine, the move may indicate WB's interest in stoking sales this non-Potter holiday season, or preparing for newer editions of the films on HD-DVD or BluRay technology.

'GoF' surpasses 'PoA' in U.S. box office receipts  Comments (226)
With only five weeks in release in the U.S. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" has surpassed "Prisoner of Azkaban" in box office receipts. 'PoA' was in theatres in the U.S. for over 17 weeks and garnered a grand total of $249.5 million, while 'GoF' has now reached $252.5 million after just five weeks.
