ABC Family to preview 'HBP' & exclusive footage during 'Potter' weekend  Comments (12)
Once again ABC Family will be showcasing "Harry Potter" movies during their annual '25 Days of Christmas' schedule. The first four movies will be broadcast during the December 4th - 6th weekend, just before the release of the "Half-Blood Prince" DVD on December 8th as well as exclusive footage from 'Creating the World of Harry Potter' and an advanced look at the 'Close Up with the Cast' piece with. Evanna Lynch.

Following the report that "Harry Potter" extended editions were expected to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray, we can now confirm that this is indeed the case, with all eight films set to be released as "Ultimate Editions," and "Sorcerer's Stone" and "Chamber of Secrets" set for a release date of December 8.

Over the past few years ABC Family has shown the "Harry Potter" movies during their "25 Days of Christmas" and to continue the tradition this year they will air the first four movies, as well as give previews of the "Half-Blood Prince" movie with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Michael Gambon.

'Wyrd' group still battling over fictional 'Potter' band's name  Comments (83)
Winnipeg, Canada folk music group Wyrd Sisters are continuing their two-year-old battle with Warner Bros. over the similarly named band in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," even though the group failed to halt the 2005 film's release and Warner Bros. removed all mention of it from the movie. The band is now demanding that all remaining DVDs, video games and other merchandise that reference The Weird Sisters be destroyed.

Earlier this evening "Harry Potter" stars Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane and director Mike Newell attended the 'Music from the Movies,' a concert to aid the UK's leading blood cancer charity Leukaemia Research at the Royal Albert Hall. All the music performed at the concert was written by "Goblet of Fire" film composer Patrick Doyle; himself a leukemia survivor.

Warner Bros. announced today a collectible gift set and high-definition versions of all the previous "Harry Potter" films, available for purchase Dec. 11 along with the debut of "Order of the Phoenix" on home video. The gift set will include bonus discs featuring a "Hogwarts Challenge" and three hours of all-new content, as well as souvenir bookmarks and trading cards.

All 'Potter' DVDs to be available in HD DVD  Comments (128)
Last July we were one of the first to tell you that Warner Bros. had plans to pull all the first four "Harry Potter" DVDs off store shelves by early 2007. The first three movies were pulled from shelves by December 29, 2006, with "Goblet of Fire" following suit on February 9, 2007. Earlier this morning WB announced that all the movies would be available in HD sometime this year.

In a audio interview with "Harry Potter" actor Daniel Radcliffe from last July, which is just seeing the light of day, Dan discusses "Order of the Phoenix," "Goblet of Fire" and "December Boys." Dan mentions Evanna Lynch's first day on set with her being star struck with the surroundings and that she may be the biggest fan ever. Dan states once again that he thinks Harry will die and comments that he can see Harry with Luna because of their similar experiences.
