Film bosses had to conjure up this stunt double for wizard Harry Potter. Actor Daniel Radcliffe, 13, who plays the schoolboy, was unable to shoot tricky scenes on board the triple-decker Knight Bus for the new film Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Producers drafted in an unnamed lookalike for scenes in North London. He seems just the ticket.

Reports coming in from visitors to PoA filming
Emily and Charlotte just sent us the following report: We went along to the POA filming in Palmers green yesterday and got chatting to a man working on the film; he was telling us some of the scenes that had been shot already - the aunt Marge bit is slightly different from the book, apparently she floats out into the conservatory and then into the sky, Uncle Vernon grabs her ankle and the dog jumps at his. Which Knight Bus have YOU seen?
According to the London Times, there are two Knight Busses being used for filming in PoA: TWO large buses took up residence in the courtyard at Guildhall yesterday. They are rather distinctive triple-deckers painted a colourful purple and with the word Knight on the front. Half the population will immediately realise what they are. They are, of course, from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, as someone had to explain to me, and are being filmed on the City streets over the next couple of[...]

As you all know, the Harry Potter movies contain many visual effect shots and computer generated characters. The first movie was 'jam packed' with effects, some which worked and others didn't (I thought Firenze was pretty poor, whereas the python and the troll were much better). The Chamber Of Secrets however was much more consistant with its effects, which was due to two important factors: Advancement in visual effects had improved from the first movie, and secondly Warners reduced the number[...]

New Site for Casting Speculation
Nikki Thompson's new site, Filling the Shoes is still under construction, but looks like it will be a great place to speculate about all those Harry Potter characters who have yet to be cast in the films - with all the rumors flying around right now, it fills a void, so we thought we'd let you know about it.

A Year in Sequels
The New York Times had an article in their magazine, about how much studios are investing in sequels lately and other movie economics which the author dubs "simulsequeling." It includes little tidbits on "Harry Potter" and "Lord of The Rings." Fun for all you movie buffos out there like me (and Melissa). Oh and Happy Christmas to all (who celebrate it)... and to all a good night.

Cho Chang rumors Popular (662) Very Popular
Many moons ago, I posted a rumor that Korean singer Kwon BoA was up for the role of Cho, but it was mostly gossip at the time. Anna wrote in to tell me that the latest issue of Seventeen Indonesia magazine was saying that BoA was up for the role again: It happened when BoA visited London to sing with internationally famous boyband, Westlife, for their newest album, "Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits". In London, she got a request to play as Cho Chang in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban".[...]

Pam Ferris's Profile
The imdb.com profile of Pam Ferris (aka Aunt Marge) shows that she's no stranger to playing baddies with little tolerance for children. Among other roles, she has played Trunchbull in the film adaptation of Roald Dahl's Matilda.

More PoA Casting News
From Ananova: Fame Academy winner David Sneddon says he's been tipped off he may get a cameo role in the next Harry Potter film. Part of his prize is a cameo in a film, although it's never been revealed which one. But he told CBBC's Newsround Lite that he's been tipped off it could be Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban. "I know some people might say you're a 24-year-old man," David said. "I have to admit that I've got my fingers crossed. It's just a rumour. I have no idea". Click the link[...]

PoA casting rumor
According to TLC and Countingdown, the pop culture newsletter Popbitch is reporting that David Thewis (IMDB profile) is "set for a starring role in the next Harry Potter film," but the article doesn't say whether he's been cast as Sirius, Lupin or Pettigrew. You can see a picture of him here. He looks most like Pettigrew to me.

David Thewlis set for PoA?
A "respected" "scandal sheet" (yes, we know that sounds like an oxymoron) reports that David Thewlis, lately of Dinotopia, is "set for a starring role in the next Harry Potter film" - but we're not sure whether he's on tap for Lupin, Black or Pettigrew - or whether he's actually been signed yet. We're keeping our eyes open...

The site speculates that though the specific role is not mentioned, it will either be Remus Lupin or Sirius Black. Click the link for more. Keep in mind that as I said, this is speculation, rumor, and conjecture...nothing has been publicly confirmed, as of yet.

David Thewlis in Harry Potter 3?
The pop culture newsletter popbitch is reporting that David Thewlis has landed a starring role in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The role was not specified but if the part is indeed "starring" he's probably been cast as either Professor Remus Lupin or Sirius Black. Keep in mind that this is purely rumor and speculation and it's highly possible he has not been cast at all.
