ok, i'm not sure, but i can't see harry's scar in any of the pictures, so i'm pretty sure these are still rehearsals (why they're all dirty and bloodied up is beyond me, but whatever) because harry's scar is a MAJOR thing to remember and i don't think cuaron would forget that.

Someone mentioned that Scabbers looked a bit big in the picture with Cuaron, Daniel and Rupert. I was just thinking about it - isn't Scabbers supposed to be quite, ah, sick? Like losing weight and hair, since he knows Sirius is on to him? That was one fat rat in the pic... good call.

I know for a fact that they're not going to be wearing muggle clothes the whole entire movie. They are obviously still going to be wearing their robes.
Now...think about it... why would J.K. Rowling allow Cuaron to write out the robes?! They are their uniforms!!!
He can't do that! Do you know how much of a drastic change that would make in the books and future movies; Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix?!!!
There is also proof on every Harry Potter web site I've been to, to find pic's of the Prisoner Of Azkaban. They all say that they are still going to be wearing the school robes; just better and improved robes. They even have a picture of Daniel, Rupert and Emma in them.
So stop workin' your selves up over the muggle/robes issue. It is confirmed that they are still wearing the school robes for the movies.
AND: They were just rehearsing in those photos of them for the Prisoner Of Azkaban. They weren't really shooting the movie. THEY WERE JUST PRACTICING! GETTING TO KNOW THE SETS AND THE NEW ACTORS, SIRIUS BLACK ( GARY OLDMAN ) AND REMUS LUPIN ( DAVID THEWLIS )!!!

I'm pretty sure tht they will wear robes. It would change the whole atmosphere of the movie if they didn't. It wouldn't feel right when we watched the movie. I think that the actors are just practicing, and Alfanso (is that how you spell it?) is just teasing us by saying that they are not going to wear robes. I'm not going to worry about it, when the movie comes out, we'll all see.

Rupert looks really good as Ron. (I love his hair by the way), clothes a little too small, old with holes in them, like his mum made them.
I think he looks mostly like his character.
I think that Emma is looking less and less like Hermoine. It is all in the hair - where is the bushy brown hair from the first film. It isn't supposed to get sleek until book 4 - where she really surprises Harry and Ron at the ball by how pretty she looks.

I love the pics, even though I am convinced they were rehearsal shots posed for the article. I can't wait to see Lupin and Sirius (and Buckbeak too)! I'm glad they released the pictures without the text on them - they're much nicer this way.

HarrysGran says:

Urg, I spent a long time searching again for the pics I’ve seen with robes.
And here there are: http://www.thesnitch.co.uk/galleries/POA/, then "On the set", "Filming up in Glencoe, Scotland", "The trio on set". This is the only pic I’ve seen so far where the trio is in robes.
I think it’s really important wearing these robes. It’s definitely part of the wizarding world; a real wizard would never wear muggle clothing and – it’s definitely said in the book that they are wearing their robes in the shrieking shack. I don’t like the book to be changed, especially on vital points. And the robes are vital, yeah!
I fear that these are no rehearsel pics. But maybe Cuaron hears about our outrage and do the scenes again in robes? haha

HarrysGran and some of you other folks who are robe-obsessed:

Why are the robes so vital to telling the story? How will the story be changed if they aren't wearing robes in the Shack?

OK I know everyone is psyched about the photo's, ESPECIALLY Sirius and Lupin...but to be honest, I think I'll cry if Lupin looks so goofy throughout the whole movie *sniff* I mean in the "Sheirking Shack" he looks like he's just standing there being as usless as a door =( I really hope that it was a bad shot of him. Oh Peoples should really stop worrying about the robes, they ARE going to be in the movie, just maybe not at the end, wich doesn't really matter, the first movie did n't have harry wear his robes either and it was fine!

HarrysGran says:

I agree that Ron and Dan are looking fantastic and Hermione has her hair all wrong. And I agree that I’m robe-obsessed… Like many of you PoA is my favourite book and in the movie I want everything as authentic as it possible can get. The shrieking shack-scene should be performed in robes cause the book tells us so (Harry has the (invisibility) cloak hidden under his robes, and Ron puts a hand in his robes and Scabbers emerges and so on.)

If this was the only scene, I wouldn’t ramble on…
But there are those other pics, Hermione pointing her wand at Draco, and this definitely shouldn’t be in muggle clothes, because they just left Hagrid’s class.
And the scene with McGonagall, if it’s really before the first Hogsmeade trip, was after Transfiguration class…
Without the robes it could turn out as just another kid adventure movie. The robes are part of the wizarding world, a pure-blood would never wear muggle-clothes, and that’s why I’m on the soapbox.
But of course, it’s a long time till next June, so everything can happen till then (I hope)…

They FINALLY made Dan's staright hair look more unruly and Harryish. They really need to stop being alergic to hair dye though. I know Emma's gorgeouse, but at least ATTEMPT to make her hair look like Hermione's. They did try in the first film, relaxed on it a bit in the second film, but it was Hermioneish enough. It's looking far too blond and more curly than bushy.

The robes are an important part of the Wizard world, so I will be FAR more comfortable when I see them.

from all the pics of the POA, dont you think hermione looks differant, not her face, but her face-shape????? the acters looked more like their characters in the 1st film, hermione's hair was all puffy, and i think that the 2 weasley twins were wearing a little too much blush in the 2nd movie, they looked more like thie characters in the SS. i wish the director would just stick to his character's appearance from the first movie.....

their not in their robes because these scenes do not need the use of robes, most of them are outside the school, or getting ready to go outside of the school, when they are to be in casual attire. I like the hipper approach of this director... I get it.
