During filming of the Hippogriff scene
last week, a delightful tale of one Rupert Grint fan getting up-close and personal managed to unfold. Amy, a staff member at PercyWeasley.com, has written a very cute recollection of the event
, with a special autograph from Rupert himself:
To Rupert,
I don't know if you'll remember this, it was a long time ago, but I was meant to throw some strawberries at you at the Philosopher's Stone premiere. Here they are, unthrown.
All my Love,
Amy (bam-bam)
P.S: Sorry they are slightly mushed!
So the man disappeared off to where Rupert was lurking behind a tree, and I saw him give him the bag. My heart was going so fast. Rupert opened the bag, looked in, grinned, and then read my note. He talked to the helper, and was obviously asking who had given them to him. He looked right at me. I waved and he grinned, giving me the thumbs up; and then I worked up the nerve to blow him a kiss and he winked back! He was smiling at me so much! Then he proceeded to show most of his friends in the cast the note (major embarrassment, people) and everyone was trying to nick his strawberries.
Be sure to read the rest of Amy's fun adventure, it's great.

That's so cute! Why strawberries though? Wouldn't she be afraid of getting taken away by security if she chucked it at him at a premiere?

Here’s the story on the strawberries – Amy used to correspond with someone on CBBC Newsround who said he was Rupert (it was), while many did not believe him – she did. So after defending him to the other posters she & Rupert had discussions about strawberries & things (inside joke maybe), she also promised to pelt him with strawberries at the premiere of PS. Well she didn’t but brought them with her to the current filming to see if she could give them to him and if he would remember her. The outcome is the above piece.

Now that I think about it are those the same strawberries that she was supposed to throw at Rupert at the premier? If so ewww; but probably not.

That's a pretty cool story! Lucky for her. I'm glad to see that he was so nice, I hate hearing about some of my fave celebs being jerks and all. This is the kind of scenario I would have love to have been a part of when I was a teenager. "sigh" the good old days.

Godric11: well word has it that Rupert used to go (maybe still does?) on the CBBC Newsround boards as permboy or permlessboy (if memory and rumors serves correctly; it referred to his character in Thunderpants, I think) and say he was the Rupert Grint and just chat w/ others on the discussion board. Well, needless to say lots of people didn't believe it was really him, but Amy appeared to be a believer, maybe the only one -- that's how she knew his username.
