The Leaky Cauldron
has posted a translation of an article
in the Swedish magazine Aftonbladet
, describing one of the scenes being filmed at Shepperton Studios for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Here are a few brief excerpts:
Inside the enormous studio woods are erected. The trees are massive, the trunks several metres thick and stretching far towards the fake sky. The woods are dark, of course, with a menacing air, and like a couple of tiny shadows Harry and Hermione are standing under a tree.
Harry jerks and rushes off, Hermione fumbles for him to hold him back. Harry takes out his wand and runs the 15-20 metres towards the frozen lake.
The director Alfonso Cuarón wants a retake and gets it, over and over. In the end Harry’s been rushing down towards the lake nearly 40 time before the director thanks the entire filming crew with a "Gracias".
The magazine also talked to actors Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Gary Oldman. Daniel and Gary discuss the differences between working with directors Chris Columbus and Alfonso Cuarón, while Emma talks about Michael Gambon replacing Richard Harris as Dumbledore, and why The Prisoner of Azkaban novel offers the best movie material.
So what does Gary have to say about those tatoos?
"And I’m tattooed, that’s Alfonso’s idea.”
He rises and shows the tattoos all over his body.
"In some scenes I need those on my arms as well but right now they weren’t needed."
Daniel and Emma are also asked about Goblet of Fire.
"We’re in for the fourth movie as well."
As for Order of the Phoenix:
"We’re not up to speculate on that - one movie at a time."
You can read the full article at the above link. Thanks to The Leaky Cauldron for the translation!

Wow, you've got to read the whole article! PoA is getting to the Swedish cinemas in August next year. August? Why August? I thought premiere was set to June 4th???
But a relief: The trio will be in GoF. I hope the source is really reliable at this point...
What really took me in was the description of Dan/Harry shouting "expecto patronus". Oh, wow, how I love that scene!
And again there's unfortunatly, the mentioning of the actors not wearing robes. I'm still obsessed with theses robes. I love it when they are fluttering all around when the students move about. I always envision these robes whilst reading the books, and I guess I'll sadly miss them in PoA. But, well, I will try not to judge beforehand.

I don't like Alfonso Cuaron. I don't like his approach to the film. They should be wearing robes, not muggle clothes and why on earth is Sirius tattooed? I think his ideas are really bad and I want Chris Columbus back. I hope Alfonso doesn't direct the next movie.
It's cool that the trio are going to be in the fourth movie. I half hope that they play in all 7, I also half hope they don't (cos I want to audition for Hermione if it comes up!) though it will be tough for any kids following them since they've done such a fab job.
LiLSw33ti I have seen pics of Sirius in the scene of the Shrieking Shack. He has a weird sort-of-scar tattoo on his chest and that was the only one I could see. I think they look really weird. I totally think Alfonso Cuaron is directing the movie wrong.
HarrysGran I think they do wear robes briefly in the movie. I've seen pics of them walking down a hill with robes on. I dunno if it will be in the movie though. Maybe they will be wearing robes more often than we thought.

witch_hazel, Mike Newell is going to direct the next movie. I think his ideas are worth looking at. Most likely it will all fall into place when we see the movie.
Yay! I'm very glad they're doing the next movie; I hope Rupert is too...

Yes, mike newell directed "the young indiana jones" and i heard that was very good.
i'm pretty sure that rupert will be in the goblet of fire if emma and daniel are. it wouldn't be the same without him.

I don't lik how everybody keeps putting down Alfonso Cuaron. I think it is wrong to judge him before you have even seen the movie. I think his approach is kool and creative. JKR wouldn't let him do what he is doing if she didn't like it. Anyway the trio has worn muggle clothes before in both movies. I think he will be a good director.

40 times for one shot? No wonder that we have to wait till June (or August if you live in Sweden:)!) It's good that we are going to see Dan and Emma in the 4th movie, and I hope Rupert is in there, too. And I also hope that we will see all the other actors (Especially Alan Rickman!)in the forthcoming movies, too. At least they won't be too old then...

Has anyone definitively heard that they will never be in robes? Because the scenes that this article describes are the same scenes that are shown in the "official" pictures (Newsweek, etc.). There are a number of incidents in the first two movies that the trio are in Muggle clothes too...I guess only time will tell!
I have to say that I would miss the robes too...they made the students look more serious, somehow.

Don't get me wrong...I think Columbus did a fabulous job on the 1st two hp movies...but I'm glad they got someone new for PoA. PoA is way edgier than the SS(PS) or CoS...and therefore I think they needed an edgier director. I think Alfonso will do a great job...and I like change. I think it would be terribly dull to have the same director for all the movies...there would never be any growth to the films. So, I'm looking forward to PoA...and of GoF as well. I'm sure Cuaron and Newell will carry on the the tradition of directing the fabulous HP films :)

Um, I heard that the pictures from newsweek and everything were rehearsal pictures.
I'm sure they will wear robes, because I saw pictures of crew members hauling out robes.

I guess Sirius having tattoos makes him look a little more like a prisoner and a bad guy. But it wasn't in the book, was it? Anyways, I like Cuaron's touch to this because I think Prisoner of Azkaban is a little more "dark".

Oh come on. They're not all going on 15. Rupert JUST turned 15, Dan turned 14 like a month ago, and Emma won't even be 14 until April, right? They better not ever replace the trio, because they're PERFECT.

I love this article...I'm in an early British lit class right now so I don't have much time to reread HP, but this keeps making me want to start over for the umpteenth time on PoA.
If you guys haven't read about the whole robe issue, updates from people who have been to the filmings have said that they've seen the actors in robes in spite of the obsenely hot weather. I think it's at iHP.org, but I'm not positive. HPANA has pleanty of updates.
I just saw the Loony Toons preview, it doesn't look like too bad a movie so I just may go see it. (if only to see the PoA trailor) Yipee! To think...when this movie comes out, I'll be freshly graduated from high school. (Not sure which one I'm more anxious for right now :P)

Haha that's so cool, because the new people for GoF will be able to meet the trio. oh, it would be so cool if they do all the movies. tiring for them, but cool for us fans!
i'm pretty sure they will have robes.
by the time PoA comes out, i'll be ending my junior year. by the time GoF comes out, i will be out of high school and probably in college.
but that would be cool if i was cast as cho...because i'd miss my junior and senior year. HOORAY!
