An interview with Christian Coulson
, James Phelps
, and Oliver Phelps
has been posted up after a TLC news correspondent, Victoria, was able to chat with the actors during Collectormania 4
that took place this past weekend. Here are some excerpts of the report
:
Christian [Coulson] had not read any of the Potter books until he read for the part. "I read the first three books quite quickly and I am now read nearly at the end of Goblet of Fire, I guess I am slowly catching up with everybody else!" Asked if he would like to come back to the part of Voldermort. "I would love to, but he is 50 years older and much more evil, if that can be possible."
The Weasleys have not had much of a look in so far in the movies, understandably due to the sheer volume of information that JK provides, but with Prisoner of Azkaban, the infamous twins come more and more into their own. "So, are we going to see more of [James & Oliver Phelps] in PoA?"
"Definitely," says Oliver. "I think the twins come into the story a lot more as the books progress. We have just, last week, filmed the Marauders Map scenes and they are really great, the way they do the map is brilliant, what a great idea. Prisoner is going to be well worth the wait."

Okay! Combined with Miles's set report and the Phelps's interview - we are going to see alot of the big scenes from PoA in the movie! So long is the wait, but it is going to be so worth it! Say good bye to half done films. Say hello to a true cinematic masterpiece!
It sounds to me like the Phelps twins plan on sticking around for the whole film series! It would be nice to have at least one set of actors who started the films finish the films.

I like it when the stars say a lot about theirselves, and tell the going-ons about the upcoming movies when people like the producers, or the director don't. Yet, I know they can tell more, but they must sworn to secrecy by Warner Brothers by not telling to much.

That is so cool. I know, i have noticed that fred and george are in it a lot more as the books progress. Like in the first movie, they only had a couple scenes. Like at platform 9 3/4 and when they are teasing harry about quittich. Then in the second they were in it a lot more. The car scenes, quittich, at the burrow. And now with the morudders map (sorry i know i misspelled.)But yea, i hope to see him back as Voldemort too. I really never want anyone of the characters actors to change, yet i am interested to see how Gambon will do as dumbledore.

They are perfect for their characters. I'm really glad they're doing the marauder's map scene. It isn't one of the like "crucial" scenes, so i'm glad they felt it should be in the movie. They have to keep the book fans happy! I can't wait til Weasley's Wizard Wheezes...

I don't think James and Oliver have much to worry about as far as being replaced in the Harry Potter movies...unless red haired teenaged twins are alot more common in Britain than the US! I love them in the films, glad they are back! And they all sound like they are so nice and appreciative of their fans. I am so glad when nice people have success and happiness. Hope they will always have both.

Oh wow, I am SO very excited for June 4th...and I love the twins! They are adorable! You know, I was watching Casper today and the three brothers that are joksters remind me SO much of George and Fred! I was sitting there thinking about the twins whenever they came on screen.
And Christian was a perfect Tom Marvolo Riddle. All three are lovely. :)

Ahhh excitement! I'm already impatient for POA next year and the actors' comments are making me even more so! Fred & George rock - I do understand why they can't have as much screentime in the films but they are so much fun in the books.
I thought Chris Coulson did an excellent job as Tom Riddle in COS & would love to see him back in some capacity. Unfortunately, as he points out there isn't a lot of call for Voldemort except as his older, even nastier self. (haha) Perhaps we'd get a tiny glimpse of Tom in GOF, if the producers decide to keep that intro bit about the Riddle House & Frank's story of seeing a boy in the neighbourhood. I love that whole back story - hopefully they'll leave it in! :)

The Phelps twins are doing a very good job as Fred and George. It isn't bad in the least that they are actually wrong - Fred and George are the stocky ones, and Ron is the tall brother...
I like the marauders map, and as it is used in book 3 to 5 it is vital that it is introduced in PoA. *sigh and wail* I do want a time turner now, going forward in time to June...

The Phelps twins appeared to be very nice in this interview. I wish we could have something like Collectormania here in Germany. But when do they stop filming and start to cut the movie???? Hope they hurry up a bit, if WB told us they finished filming it wouldn't be looking so long until June. Just now it seems to me like they will never finish...
