Jason Isaacs
would very much like to be in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, reports the World Entertainment News Network
, a celebrity gossip wire service used by the IMDb
.
The actor, who stars in December's Peter Pan reincarnation, is quoted by the news service:
Just as we were finishing Chamber of Secrets, Alfonso CuarĂ³n came along and I got to shake hands with him and that was about it. Then they started Azkaban. I'm sure they had a whale of a time. But I don't know what's happening with Goblet of Fire. I phoned to find out and they said, "We've no idea, sorry. The scripts are just coming in..." There's 700 pages or something that they have to make a two-hour movie from, so I don't know whether they're going to put Lucius Malfoy in or not. If I thought begging would do any good, I'd be out there every day. But that would probably just irritate them.

I really hope the add him in it. And it dosen't have to be 2 hours. 2 1/2 would work too, if they really wanted to, they could even go 3 hours, like Titanic. That movie was a major hit too. I just hope they add Lucius in it. I'm 2nd! (Unless someone snaked me) ;-)

Oooooh my gosh. I LOVE Lucius in the movies, or at least I love to hate him. They HAVE to have him in the fourth movie and I can't believe he wasn't even IN PoA! Thats ridiculous! He's like a major character! Oh my gosh, if he's not in the fourth one, I'll die. I love him!

How could he not be in the movie!? He is the embodiment of Lucious! I knew this would happen once the books made the jump to film, cutting anything out is just wrong. They need to break the books up into more than one movie or allow them to be longer, I don't think that would chase anyone away! I mean, come on! Everyone knows how huge the franchise is! :(

They have to have Lucius. I mean when I saw Jason act the character out, the first thought that crossed my mind was "he's damn perfect for the part and I love his smirk" :P Yeah I know, I'm weird.

Oooh, he played the evil Lucius so well, I hope they keep him around! And he at least he should be around for the 5th movie, if not the 4th, but if Lucius is in the movies at all, Isaacs should play him!!! It's nice of him to admit he wants to be in the movie, too, why wouldn't you want to hire an actor who is so keen to do the role?

They cannot possibly squash GoF ino 2 hours. That is just undoable. And if Lucuios Malfoy isn't in it then... well I just don't know what to say. They cannot wreck HP for me! They cannot! It's an outrage, a scandal!

They cannot turn book 4 into a 2 hour movie, not if the 1st and 2nd ones were almost 21/2 to 3 hours each! They should make it Matrix style and split the movie in 2. I would so be in for that. There are so many Chars. that are in Book 4 that I would like to see played out on film. I really hope that they put JI in the movie. He was so good in the second one!

They probably will not include Lucius in the movie any more than the one scene at the Quidditch Match. But unfortuantely that would be very short; which is too bad- I enjoyed him thhouroughly in CoS. I doubt they include him at all.

Really, a two-hour-movie could just be the first part of GoF-which means there has to be a second. I don't like the idea of splitting the movie, why does it seem to be impossible for WB to make a 4-hour-movie???? I don't mind sitting in the cinema the whole evening. Yet I'm very keen on knowing the length of PoA. If PoA isn't longer than the first movies, I'm sure they are going to squash GoF in 2 1/2 hours, too. But maybe, in 10 or 15 years we are able to get a Director's Cut.
And to Jason Isaacs, I not only want to see him at the Quidditch World Cup, but I also want to see him standing along with all the other Death Eaters at the end of the movie!

How on Earth are they going to be able to make GoF a 2 hour movie, they can't possibly get that right, they should make it a 4 hour movie with an intermission. I mean how much are they going to cut out in order to make the Movie, are they going to finally ruin the movies by cutting things out, that need to be in.

Really, they are not taking the movies seriously! I agree that the movies are becoming a hotdog machine... as long as Warner Brothers finishes the whole series, theyre satisfied... even though these films are utterly unsatisfying and totally untouching and extremely un-harry-potter... HOW STUPID IS THAT?!? And who are they, to cut Lucius Malfoy? I hope JKR reacts very violently on this!

Castus Cruor - bite your tongue! How dare you diss on one of the main actors in these films? Obviously you think someone else would suit the role better - whom do you have in mind? Personally, Emma does a great job - and gets better with every film.
As for GoF being made into a 2 hour movie - sacrelige! Warner Brothers better rethink their plan. Of course, they could always go through with it and hten deal with millions of upset and disappointed HP fans whose book has been torn to shreds and reduced to Hollywood size. Don't they realize HP is bigger than Hollywood? More length = more money spent by us HPers. Wake up, WB!
And you better keep Lucius Malfoy in the films.

They really should make it into two movies. They will make more money off of two movies and we will get to see GoF the way it should be seen! Everyone win's! GoF has the potential to be a really great movie! I hope they dont mess it up.

Madam Malkin says:
I hope he's in GoF. Jason Isaacs is one of my favorite actors. I've seen him in several movies, with the role of the bad guy and the good guy, and he does each very well.
I think Emma Watson is a great little actress, and she does get better every time. She is not someone that needs replacing. Besides, how weird would that be for audiences that have been following the films if there was suddenly a new Hermione? Emma is a good Hermione, and even if they did end up getting a new Hermione, it will always be Emma that audiences think of. With movies like this, you just can't replace the main characters so easily.
GoF better be one movie. And it better be about 4 hours long. HP fans won't care how long it is, they'll see it at midnight on opening night anyway. That kind of movie should not be cut short or divided in two. The fans, the ones that really actually care that there are HP movies, won't stand for it, and too much information would be lost.

It would be a travesty if they tried putting this movie into two hours and it's unfair to Harry Potter fans. Obviously our petitions don't mean anything to them..-sigh- now i'm depressed it's my favorite book and I don't even think I have the excitement to see it on on screen. But yay for Jason they better have him come back now no one else can play him.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS! This isn't right, how can Warner Brothers still go through with it after all the letters and petitions! This just shows how little a normal person can do in this world! How the hell are they going to put 700 pages in a 2 hour movie? The Goblet of Fire is my favorite book and they better not mess it up! When I was reading it I thought to myself: 'Wow, can't wait to see that onto the big screen!'. I guess now I will only see half of it. I'm serious if they mess the GOF up I'm not going to see the Order of the Phoenix in the cinemas! I'll wait until it's out for rent. If they really are going to cut all the items that was stated in the petition then I'm really scared for the outcome.
I know, I should just face facts but it's just not right! The people who haven't read the books wouldn't notice anything but the rest of the world will!

I'm not convinced that the film only being two hours is set in stone. Surely they are not still considering them to be a "children's" film whose audience cannot sit still for longer than 2 hours. Look at how long Lord of the Rings films are and they are blockbusters.
I certainly hope gets his wish. He seems to enjoy being Lucius.

I really like hw charming and funny he was about wanting to be in GoF. I mean, who wouldn't, right? But he was very cute about it, anyway. Is it me, or are ALL the actors in these movies nice, charming, and funny???
As for the 2 hour movie thing. First, I agree with those of you who suggest that since the other movies are almost 3 hours long, there is no reason why they'd kill off half the book to cram it into a 2 hour play time. But then again, I have yet to see a huge monster corporation like the WB care all that much about the "fans." It's because they know we will all go see the 4th movie whether it's 2 hours, or 4. It's all about the money, unfortunately.
But, I can't imagine them leaving Lucius out. He's too important. We see him over and over throughout the series. He is huge at the end of OoP, and I think we all need to see him creeping up in importance in the movies the same way as we did in the books!! And Jason Isaacs is WONDERFUL as Lucius. Exactly as I pictured him, and definitely a great enough actor to be so slimy and perfect and snooty, and superior.....and evil. I hope WB pays attention to his comments and asks him to reprise his roll. If you don't need to replace an actor, then by God, DON'T. Everyone hates watching somebody for 3 or 4 films, and then suddenly they have somebody else in the role. It feels like you are being cheated!
