Rumors abound on the Internet - and the Harry Potter books and films are certainly no exception. But just remember that rumors are just that - rumors - until confirmed.
Keeping that in mind, two rumors regarding the movie version of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which isn't due out until 2007, are currently making the rounds.
According to Contactmusic News
, if you were worried that the irreplaceable trio of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, along with bad boy Tom Felton, were in danger of, well, being replaced by the time Order of the Phoenix gets rolling, fret no more.
Harry Potter lead actor Daniel Radcliffe has been signed up to star in the fourth and fifth installments of the magical movie adaptations.
Alongside Harry, fellow teenage stars Emma Watson - playing Hermione, Rupert Grint - playing Ron, and Tom Felton - playing Draco, have also been confirmed as definites.
The problem is that Contactmusic News is by no means in a position to officially confirm anything - plus they didn't bother to quote a source in their article - so take this news with a grain of salt for now.
And thanks to MuggleNet for pointing to another interesting rumor: if you're wondering who Warner Bros. is going to tap to direct Order of the Phoenix, then look no further than IMDb's Order of the Phoenix webpage, which lists Stuart Baird as the director. If you're curious about Baird's other work, he's also directed Star Trek: Nemesis, U.S. Marshals, and Executive Decision.
Again, keep in mind that IMDb is not in a position to officially confirm this type of news.
But it does make for some interesting speculation in the meantime ...

Seems a bit early for rumors since filming hasn't even started on GoF. What if its director is marvelous and wants to return. What if Chris Columbus wants to direct again. Hmmm, think about that. But maybe the plan is to start filming OotP almost immediately after GoF is completed. Actors could be acting even while the technical stuff is being done on GoF. That's my favorite rumor even if I did start it.

Wow, if they were confirmed to act in the fifth movie, that would be the best! And it would be even better if they acted in all seven! Even though it will be a few years before Order of the Phoenix hits the big screen, I cannot wait. I was even thinking about how they would go about transferring some of the OoTP characters to the screen even as I was reading it for the first time... it will be interesting to see how they portray Kreacher and Umbridge!

I'm not so shure about that director. I love Star Trek but I was not impressed with that last movie.
I thought they would get the same director that did POA.

Even if they are just rumors it is good to hear :) I know its a bit pre-mature and everything to be talking about the fifth movie when the third one has still yet to be realeased and everything, but oh well! If any one of the trio or tom felton were not on board it would make me upset because they are so important to the films...
I just can't wait for the third movie!! Less than 6 months!

I hope it's true for movie 5 for sure. Dan, Ron and Emma have all said they have signed contracts for the GOF to start filming sometime this Spring. Hope Tom is on board too. Along with our favorite professors, McGonagall, Snape, and of course Dumbledore.

He would hate to see anyone else in that role. Kind of like "no one could potray Harry , Ron , & Hermione like we can." You know.I guess only time will tell.

I thought Alfonso Cuaron was interested in the possibility of returning to the Harry Potter franchise to direct Order of the Phoenix, according to an article I saw long ago at HPANA. I think Alfonso Cuaron would a great job with Order of the Phoenix since he is one of the best directors at portraying teenagers, and the fifth movie will have to bubble with teen angst. It would be a (nearly) perfect match.

Well it's good that the characters are coming back to play their parts. If I were them I really wouldn't want to give up my character but then again that's me. All we need to do to insure that the characters will continue to play their parts is to get the other books writing and printed. Hopefully that happens soon.
