Garth from Dark Hroizons
, is reporting that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will have a running time of 142 minutes, or two hours and twenty-two minutes. This information comes directly from the distributor but may include the credits, which bumps up the 135 minute figure previously reported
.
Of course, this is considered a rumor until officially confirmed by Warner Bros.

I'm really excited about the new film, and it's great that it's a bit longer than we expected, though I wouldn't complain if it was twice this long.....
By the way, I've been lurking here for absolutely ages but this is my very first post. I love this site. So up-to-date.

I think that two and a half hours is a decent amount of time for a movie. Of course, I would be happier if it were very intricate and 6 hours long.

Great! I hope the news is right and movie is going to be longer. The longer it is the better and it means they wont have cut so much off.

That doesn't seem long enough to do the book justice. Why can't it be one of those epic films, or two parts like that other movie. There is no way they can make book/movie 4 that short!

Well I guess that's not too bad of a length. But it wouldn't bother me if it was longer. I don't know why they're so worried about the length when all the fans on here say the longer the better.

I guess thats ok, but a 135 minutes(credits not included)isn't that long. I mean weren' the first two HP movies longer? I could have sworn they were! Well as i said i guess its ok, BUT they better not cut out any important parts or i'm gonna be pissed.

Well, If this is correct, Then I feel a little better. The hour and half time was making me really nervous. We can only hope that its long enough to really capture the book.

The more Harry Potter the better. I wished it could be longer but as long as GoF and OotP are longer than that or made into two movies I'll be happy.

Professor Snuggle Bunny says:
Personally I would love it if it was three hours -- they should take the example of Peter Jackson with Lord of the Rings. Then they should do a four hour special edition. I don't see how they're really going to fit book 4 in two hours, that book is just full of great stuff that I would hate to see cut.

Well, the more the better. If they lengthen the time to accomodate the story, we may also see this translate to a longer time on GOF when it is finished. They may shoot for a goal time and then expand if truly necessary.
