For those who can't get enough, a Daniel Radcliffe interview is featured in today's Manila Times
, which took place during the filming of Prisoner of Azkaban. Here's an excerpt of the article
:
Do you think the movie version of Harry has deviated from the original book in any way?
Off the top of my head, I can’t think of anything that is completely different from the book. One thing that has happened is Alfonso has been very accurate in predicting in how one aspect of his character will turn out. He felt that he was quite an arrogant person even before the fourth and fifth books came out. He knew. I don’t know if he talked to J.K. Rowling about it, but his instinct with Harry—as was Chris Columbus’—is very accurate.
Can you tell us about your friendship with Emma and Rupert?
The bond just keeps getting stronger and stronger. We do have arguments—err, heated discussions—I mean. We never argue! Okay, we do argue sometimes, about stuff like making a crazy golf course out of card-board. There is a circular saw in Rupert’s room at the moment which I got. I’m like the scrounger, I can get you anything.
Is there a sense of loss not having Richard Harris around?
There is that. I do miss Richard because he was Richard, I loved him. But Michael Gambon, I can’t think of anyone better to stand in. Like on his first day, he came out with the costume and beard and the way he walked and talked in an Irish accent was a tribute to Richard, really good. He is going to be great.

Great interview with Dan. I'm glad he like the new Dumbledore, but yet keeps the memory of the old Dumbledore(Harris). That funny how they have "heated discussions", about wierd things. That awesome that they all have a strong friendship. Looking forward to seeing them in PoA!!

Aw about the Richard comment. That was very sweet that he loved him. I think that's the first time I've ever seen any of the cast say they loved another cast member.

Great interview! It's nice to get to know hp actors a bit better. I will miss Richard as well, he was a fantastic Dumbledore, he was exactly the Dumbledore I imagined. I think Michael will be a good Dumbledore too.

I'm just wondering if there will be any surprises left when we actually see the film. :o)) Never heard anyone talk about that scene with the Dementi-whatsits sucking their souls. It sounds really great though.

IT is so nice to hear all these new interviews. The stuff we had before was kind of the same thing over and over. All we need now is interviews from the rest of the cast :)

New interviews are always so great, we usually find out a lot of new stuff about the actors. That was such a nice comment about Richard Harris and Micheal Gambon. I'm not reading the whole article until I get later home today because I don't have enough time right now... but it looks really good from the excerpts I read.

How nice of Michael Gambon to use an Irish accent in homage to Richard Harris! I hope we will adapt to him as much as the cast did.
We ought to kidnap the directors if they have accurate predictions to where a character is headed, even more so if they have gained this knowledge from J.K. Rowling. I want to know everything that will happen to Snape's character in the last two books!
I'm glad to see that the actors for the trio have become strong friends in that the movies reflect it; who knows how the films would be without it?

Putting Ian McKellen in that role would have caused too much confusion, Order_of_the_Phoenix15. Can you just imagine --
"Hey look, it's Gandalf!"
"No, you silly thing - it's the new Dumbeldore"
Besides, Michael Gambon is doing a fine job!
Another interview with Daniel. Does the world not realise that there are several other people working on these films? Not just Daniel. I want to hear about the circular saw in Rupert's room - is he into woodworking. And what are the heated discussions about? All the same questions keep getting asked. Time to send out new interviewers!

They've been pretty Interview intensive for this movie, haven't they?
Yeah, I was really rooting for Ian McKellen as Gandalf back when they were casting the first movie, but at this point, I think it wouldn't be quite right if he were in the role. Too LoTR-crossover feeling.
As for predicting character changes... Ah, come on, guys. Surely you all could tell he was going to get more arrogant? For one thing, all teenagers are stuck up to some degree (don't argue, it's a fact of life). For another, being not only famous but a really powerful wizard will eventually go to your head whether you like it or not, right? Nothing unusual there. I'll be surprised if he doesn't get more arrogant, although I'll be happy when the mood-swings calm down a bit!

I found the comment that Harry is "arrogant" very interesting. Now that is something that I can't see in the character. I can see Harry becoming more confident, but arrogant, absolutely not.

He has been doing a lot of interviews lately, hasn't he?? I just wish they would ask him different questions cause it always seems to be the same ones. Might just be me but whatever. I'm excited to see the new dumbledore, i loved the old one but this one should be good too.

Is it just me or is there a weird, annoying pattern to this?
