The recent news that the title of book six would be Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé have been floating around the Web for a few days, but author J.K. Rowling has confirmed
what many fans have suspected all along - that the rumors about the title were a hoax.
According to her spokesperson the title is "definitely a hoax" and now Rowling has updated her site with her take on the rumor, as well as answered some frequently asked questions people have sent her -- check out the FAQ & Rumours section.
In her own words:
I am trying very hard not to feel offended that anyone thought this was possible. 'Storgé', for crying out loud. Come on, people, get a grip.
Also, thanks to MuggleNet for letting us know that the 'Do Not Disturb' sign has been removed from the door and it opens to reveal a brick wall -- will hitting the right sequence reveal something (like the real title to book 6)? Go and see!

I'm glad that was just a rumor because that wasn't a good title at all.. if J.K. did pick that as her title then i'd say she's losing her touch... but thankfully it was only a rumor...

That name didn't even sound like a JKR title, but yeah it had me fooled just like everyone else. However, I am so glad that JKR told us personaly that it wasn't the real name of the title. Plus just the fact that she was going to give us the chance to know the real book name was awsome!

Oh and this was my reaction too: 'Storgé', for crying out loud. But maybe that was because I knew already what the title of the sixth book was.
