Our friends at MuggleNet
and DanRadcliffe.com have each been nominated for the respective categories of "Best Movie Fan Site" and "Best Actor Fan Site" in the first annual Movies.com Site Awards. They're going up against sites from the Pirates of the Carribbean and Lord of the Rings fandoms, among others. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban's official site is also up for an award, challenging Spider-Man 2 and Mean Girls for top spot in that category.
HPANA was a candidate for the awards, as was The Leaky Cauldron, but unfortunately didn't make it into the final round. We did, however, get honored with a "Fan Favorite Site" seal, which we'll bear proudly (see our Press page):
In consideration of all the attention your site has had and the notable effort you put into your site, we thought it appropriate to acknowledge this recognition of your loyal fans in a more official way. As such, we are providing you with a Fan Favorite Site seal to post on your site.
Voting for the awards is open through September 10, with winners announced September 22, 2004. We strongly encourage Harry Potter fans to show their support and Hogwarts spirit by voting for MuggleNet and DanRadcliffe.com. Good luck to them both!

Trouble is the Lord of the Rings fandom is, well, huge. They could very well win.

That's really great! i'm so glad that it won because mugglenet is definitely one of my favorite potter sites. I'm not surprised that it is "going up against sites from the Pirates of the Carribbean and Lord of the Rings fandoms" at all because Harry Potter is one of the hugest things ever! I hate Mugglenet. I used to love it, but they've been going downhill. Sure the layout is pretty, but I still like this site better. Their news always seems like it comes at least a day late, and they've permanantly disabled the comments for some reason. Nope, sorry. This site kicks booty more than any other in my opinion. But, whatever floats your boat. Sorry you didn't make it HPANA! You truly should've.

The Dan Radcliffe site is nominated. Go them! I love them, but not as much as HPANA...trust me.
