JK Rowling announced on her web site
this morning that she's expecting a third child, due next year.
"Fingers crossed of course, I don't foresee any baby-related interruptions or delays," she said. "Let me reassure you that book six remains well on track."
The author, who has sold over 260 million Potter books worldwide, said she always wanted three children. "I could not be happier," she added.
Of the recently announced sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince:
Now, I know that many Harry Potter fans first reaction will be what does this mean for the timing of book six? (I'm not maligning you… I'm sure you're happy for me... but I know you really want that book!) So let me reassure you that book six remains well on track.
I still can't say for sure when it will be finished, but I have written a lot and I really like it (a reckless challenge to fate, that; I bet the next chapter goes horribly wrong now).

Congratulations to Jo and her family! I wouldn't mind if book 6 got delayed because of it. Family comes first, in my book. :)

That is really neat, good for her! I wonder if it is a boy or a girl?? Hmm... three seems like a good number especially since its like the trio Harry Ron and Hermoine... what a coincidence! I really hope that it won't slow down the process of the book though. I can't wait to much longer before I snap!! Anyways like I said congrats Jo!!

Good for her! I wonder what she'll name it. She tends to name her kids pretty common names, you know, David, Jessica. I'm glad it won't delay HBP, but even if it did her kids need to be first priority.

How wonderful! Congratulations to JKR, her husband and 2 children! We hope for a healthy and happy pregnancy. Don't worry about the fans slathering for the book. Your health and your child's is much more important.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! :)
YAY!!That's really good news I think! I wonder what his or her name will be?
But of course it worries me a little at the same time - even though she assured us that the baby won't cause delays, family always comes first. I totally agree with that, but as a "fanatic HP fan I'm soooo curious and impatient... Let's just hope she's nearly finished the sixth, and there's not much to work with.
And congrats again!!!!!! :)

Hugs and kisses for JKR. I hope she's feeling ok; you hear about how bad morning sickness can be.
Is it too soon to send baby stuff? (Like I have any money to do that...)

Aww! That's great! Cool for her! I wonder what she'll name it. It seems like everyone famous is either having kids or marrying these days. Hehehe! But, I am definately happy for her, since she did say she's always wanted to have 3 kids, right? Congrats to Joanne!

Another Child!? Well... book 6 should be out before the baby is due, but what about book 7? She will be so busy taking care of it that she will never get it done! haha. She should have had the baby AFTER the books were complete. By the way? Isnt she divorsed? Who the heck got her pregnant then? Haha.
Editors Note: Jo was divorced but remarried a few years ago!

Wonderful!!!! Congradulations to Jo as well. I'm happy that she'll be getting just what she wanted and I'm happy that the book sounds like it's mostly done. Sounds like it will be out by at least next summer... since she's expecting during the the early part of next year... Maybe spring or summer right... so.... it will be out by the summer... hopefully.
