She answers questions about Arthur Weasley (Ron's dad), Tom Riddle (the future Voldemort) and what is the relation between Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (book 2) and the upcoming book six.
Why are some people in the wizarding world (e.g., Harry) called 'half-blood' even though both their parents were magical?
The expressions 'pure-blood', 'half-blood' and 'Muggle-born' have been coined by people to whom these distinctions matter, and express their originators' prejudices. As far as somebody like Lucius Malfoy is concerned, for instance, a Muggle-born is as 'bad' as a Muggle. Therefore Harry would be considered only 'half' wizard, because of his mother's grandparents.
If you think this is far-fetched, look at some of the real charts the Nazis used to show what constituted 'Aryan' or 'Jewish' blood. I saw one in the Holocaust Museum in Washington when I had already devised the 'pure-blood', 'half-blood' and 'Muggle-born' definitions, and was chilled to see that the Nazis used precisely the same warped logic as the Death Eaters. A single Jewish grandparent 'polluted' the blood, according to their propaganda.

I was a bit confused with the pure blood/ half blood stuff. I'm she cleared that up. I still can't figure out what Harry found out in CoS that foreshadows 'Prince'? Even if I read the book again I'll probably still not know!!!!

That's alot of revelation if you'll consider. But honestly, i really thought of Tom Riddle being the Half Blood Prince, but now he's not. Have to re-read Book 5 again and again and Book 2 too.

I've been thinking about the things Harry learned back in COS since I first read this, and I think I have it! He found out that Tom Riddle/Voldemort was the heir of Slytherin, which could mean that he'll find out he is the heir of Gryffindor! I know people have been saying that for some time now, but maybe she'll actually confirm it in book 6.
I could be wrong, of course, so we'll all just have to wait till it comes out!

wow! That's crazy about the Nazis and how they determined whether to take a family or not. And that's too bad that Arthur won't be minister, though I'm sure he is more than happy with his current job.

~Aurora~ says:
Wow, that's a little scary to think the Deatheaters has much in common with the Nazis and the way they thought. Like the Nazis (discriminated agaisnt Jews), the Death Eaters discriminate agaisnt muggle-borns, even though in some causes muggle-borns can out-do themselves more as a wizrd than a pure-blood (hermione). Also botht the Death Eaters and the Naxis think they are a dominating group. Truthfully i can't stand it when people think like that, it's dumb.
As for Arthur Weasely, i couldn't really see him being the MoM, he just doesn't seem like the kind of person to hold such position, but i can see him being promoted or something of the sort.
As for Tom Riddle, i neevr thought of it, because hmm.....HE IS VOLDEMORT.
But the last answer to the last question threw me off a little esp. by this line
"Rather, it relates to a discovery Harry made in 'Chamber' that foreshadows something that he finds out in 'Prince'."
someone mentioned it might have something to do with the sword of Gydric Gryffindor. But i'm not sure.
Also, if anyone knows the background of Cho Chang (whether she's pure-blood, half-blood, muggle-born etc.) could someone let me know cause my friend borrowed my Chamber book and she's now in Mexico. That would be great thanks

Hmm... yeah I wouldnt want him to be the MoM either. Its too obvious and tactless if he became the MoM. Besides, Arthur is already too busy and stuff. Maybe its someone we seriously least expect. Like one of Voldie's men! Hehehehe...

This really answered some good questions, but then again it brought up whole new ones. Like what does Harry discover in Chamber of Secrets that will be foreshadowed in HBP? This is very interesting and it just makes me all the more excited for book six! That was really neat that JK did that, I definetly have to check out her site to see more background... Half Blood Prince here we come!!
