Harry Potter actor Robbie Coltrane
(Hagrid) sat down recently with The Sunday Herald to discuss the lack of privacy he now has, how Pottermania has taken him by surprise and whether he'll carry on with his role as Hagrid in the final three films.
On being overwhelmed about Pottermania:
"I knew it was going to be enormous because of the number of people who bought the books, but, to be honest, I never thought it would be bigger than Bond. Never in a million years."
On participating in the next Harry Potter movies:
"I don’t know. I really don’t know what the circumstances will be for the last three. I don’t know if I should be saying this, although if anyone has got any brains they’ll have worked it out, but if Jo Rowling hasn’t finished books six and seven within the next two years, the kids we’ve got at the moment will be too old to play the parts. And they may not even want to. So it depends on the variables. In some ways I would rather get on with something else, but I don’t want to say that because it sounds so ……. ungrateful. So, no, I don’t know if I’m going to do any more," he continues. "They will, of course, to enchant me back, offer me frightening amounts of money."

that's a bad news for me... Hagrid has to stay... i don't think its good to have another actor filling-in in Hagrid's character... not after the new dumbledore... i just don't think fans of the movie will like it!!!! i hope he change his mind, and decide to do the rest of the films... that goes to all the actors/actresses as well.....

Well, i also he'll stay, i don't see who else could play Hagrid. I agree with him, he's human, he can't be in a good mood all the time even if he is rich and famous, signing autographs and taking pictures everyday must be tiring sometimes.

I'm rather disappointed in him. He sounds a bit ungrateful, which slightly on this side of stupid. No offense to him, but he knew there were going to be 7 book which meant 7 movies, and if he wanted the role then he should have figured that it would take a lot time to make all 7.
As for the kids, I think they fit right in with the ages. I swear people in our parents' generation(s) tend to think we all look like Winnie from The Wonder Years or something like that. Times changed and so did the look of kids. That's the one thing that frustrates me.
