Since it’s debut
last week the paperback version of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has landed in the number one spot on USAToday
, Amazon
, Barnes & Noble
& BookWeb’s
book lists.
Currently Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire sits at the number one spot on the New York Times
children's paperback list but will probably give up the spot when the new list is released later this week.

That's pretty good that the books are still selling out. You'd've thought that people already have all of the books bought but they obviously don't.

It's nice to see that people are buying it and reading it again and again. I think that his book deserves to be at number 1. It's pretty impressive to be doing so well for a paperback in which the hardcover book has sold millions of copies.

Thats great to hear, although I am somewhat surprised that GOF is still at the top of the list after all this time.

I bought a paperback version to write in. I wouldn't dream of writing in my hard cover. I'm going to go through and color code the names as they first appear in the book: who's a student at Hogwarts, who's in the OotP, who's a Death Eater, Muggle, etc. There were so many new names mentioned in OotP that I can't keep them all straight! Now where are my colored pencils...?

Why couldn't they release the paperback earlier...like when the book first came out...though i must say that it is a rather ingenious way of marketing...i mean you have people like me who perfer paperback to hard cover, now they really want the book for themselves when it comes out and then later buy the paperback =D more sales!
No, i didn't buy the paperback, though I'm starting to re-think that decision...My advice NEVER lend your Harry Potter books to anyone, you won't see them till kingdom come!

I for one wanted the paperback hoping it would weigh less than the hard cover edition! I spend so much time reading when I lay down to sleep that my arms are built from holding up GoF and OotP!

That's cool, I still haven't gotten it yet...shame on me. I prefer paperback books to hardcover anyway. Hopefully it'll stay on top for a long time.

I love OOP, and thank godness the paper backs are out.
I read HP books everynight because my mom when ever she see's that i'm free she tell's me to do chores, so when everyone is asleep at my house, I start reading in the closet.I have a small torch in one hand and the book in the other hand.
P.S Holding hardcover makes hand get tired much eaisly.
