Daniel Radcliffe has said in a letter to fans that the Triwizard Tournament's underwater sequence in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will be spectacular.
The letter, sent to DanRadcliffe.co.uk
's correspondent Minoska, included thanks for the star's recent birthday wishes and gifts:
I had a brilliant birthday, made all the more special by the thousands of cards and messages I received from all over the world.
Filming on Goblet of Fire is going very well. I spent a month in a tank filming the underwater task and I did think I really was going to sprout gills!! It is going to be a spectacular sequence! I have already worked with some of the new actors - Brendan Gleeson and Miranda Richardson - and they are all fantastic. As are the actors playing Cedric, Fleur, Cho, and Krum: Robert Pattison, Clemence Poesy, Katie Leung and Stanishlav Ianevski.

Wow, I can't imagine doing water scenes like that for so long! At least it was in the summer I suppose. He's a very dedicated and talented actor. I'm definitely looking forward to the 4th movie.

So those are the actors? Hmm... I thought that they would have made different choices. Anyway, I wonder how they managed to film underwater without oxygen tanks?????

It is always good to get a filming update.
Nice to see that fame hasn't gone to Dan's head. He is still able to relate to the fans.
I'm sure most of the work done in the tank will end up on the cutting room floor, because of time constraints. With a new director, at the helm, I hope this movie turns out better than PoA.

I hope it is spectacular, the triwizard is a central plot in the book! :) Personaly im more interested in the 1st task, but it would be good if all 3 were the best they could be.
Haha, i wounder if hes finished opening all his fan mail and cards yet :)
Its a good job he isnt afraid of the water of going under! it would be horrible if he had to do it but was waterphobic!

Better and Better. We hear more about this all the time. It appears to be tracking the book fairly well. But I still don't see how they can do this in a short period. I am glad to hear that the new actors are working out so well.

Good to know they kept something from the actual book in the movie. Since they are cutting the Yule Ball. In my opinion, that's the single most important scene to a R/Hr shipper.

Doctor Elect says:
Really I always figured the first task to be amazing and due to the lack of action the second task a little boring. I hope this new director will stay true to the book and can see the signs of r/her and stay away from H/Her. You notice that the people who have read the book more and know more about the books always are r/her supporters. The last three portrayed ron as the comic relief wimp. Hopefully that will be changed. I don't want for ron to be forever be known as a wimp even though its not in the book. I feel like writing a letter to WB.
