It was announced earlier today that Half-Blood Prince will be released July 16, 2005.
Barnes & Noble will be hosting events celebrating the publication on July 15 and remaining open until 12:01 on July 16 when the book officially goes on sale.

I won't preorder, last time I just slipped into a 24 hour walmart and avoided the crowds and easily picked it off the shelves. Although a Harry Potter release party at a bookstore would probably be a lot of fun!!!

I'm thinking of pre-ordering, even though when the book comes out maybe there will be some left for lower prices, but lower prices or not everyone is going to try to get this book as soon the clock hits midnight on July 16.

Oh I don't know whether to preorder or not. I am amazed that people are saying they got the books delivered the same day. I will probably go to the bookstore sometime before midnight. I worried though, because of the area I live in things sell out very quickly here, so I'll probably be in line at like 6pm.

I am so excited! I was the first person to call the local Barnes & Noble to preorder HBP.
In case you can't get to any of the links or if you don't have access to a credit card, the call you local B&N or Borders, they can preorder it too, but for some reason the can't do it by title, you have to use the ISBN No. 0439784549. I guess it's a glitch in their computer system.
Now I am just waiting on July! I'll re-read OTP in June, so I can just pick up on the new story.
