The current issue of Premiere magazine has published the first picture we’ve seen of Miranda Richardson
in costume as Rita Skeeter from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire which is currently filming.

Another year at Hogwarts, another director charge. As the first Englishman to direct a Potter flick, Mike Newell brings his own school days to bear as Harry faces not only his own fire-breathing dragons in the Triwizard Tournament but also his greatest challenge yet - the resurrection of Voldemort.
"This story is about the return of the being of evil," says Newell. "Harry is the vital ingredient for the potion which will bring Voldemort back." Like He-Who-Must Not-Be-Named, Daily Prophet hack Rita Skeeter makes her first appearance in this fourth installment of the series.
"She's completely brash and completely hateful," says Richardson, who likens Skeeter to 1930s gossip queen Hedda Hopper. "She's written the deal before she even gets there, really."

Miranda doen't look anything like I imagined Rita Skeeter. No one could accuse her of being square-jawed, those girls are more messy than rlaborate and stiff and those glasses are not jeweled or winged. However, I do have the utmost faith in Miranda's talents as an actor and I am sure she will make her audience believe, regardless of her appearance.

Rita looks excactly as i had imagined her to be! I can't wait to see her in the fourth movie and making Harry and the Gang's lives miserable. I wonder what the dragons are going to look like???

Miranda Richardson is an excellent actress - she was brilliant in Phantom. Plus her 'queenie' in Blackadder is hilarious. Those look like really good pictures of Rita Skeeter - like her imagined her. Someone's who's all polished on the surface but all horrid and nasty underneath.

I'm really happy that Miranda richardson was chosen to play Rita Skeeter...she looks perfect for the part! The days to the fourth movie are drawing closer (even though it is still over 300 days away) and it is so great that we get to see pictures and know what is going on way before the film is released!

Wow. she looks nothing like i imagined her, but in a good way, because she still looks like Rita Skeeter could. I never thought she would have blond curly hair, but i guess i'll get used to that. i imagined it more like semi-long straight black hair, or up in a bun.
I think she'll be great.

It's my favorite of the Harry Potter books, so hopefully it'll be my favorite of the Harry Potter movies.

OH MY FREAKING GOD! I can't beleive it! Miranda Richardson is playing Rita Skeeter? That's sooo awesome! I went to go watch Phantom of the Opera and Miranda Richardson was on it as Madame Giry. She played the part perfectly and she'll play Rita Skeeter perfectly too.
