In May 2004, the U.S. Army's official Preventive Maintenance Monthly, a cartoon magazine that instructs soldiers how to take care of their military equipment, published a humourous eight-page spoof of the Harry Potter world.
Army officials visit Mogmorts and learn from Professor Rumbledoore and his staff about proper maintenance techniques for magical gear, including brooms, wands and cauldrons (tip: "PM" in the cartoon stands for "preventive maintenance"):
Many thanks to Army weekend reservist Greg for sending us a copy last year, and sorry for taking so long to post!
UPDATE: This has now become the focus of a possible copyright infringement charge by JK Rowling's representatives and Warner Bros. against the U.S. Army. We'll keep you posted.

That comic strip was hilarious. Using Harry Potter as a parody really hits the comedic angle. Rumbledore, McDonagall, Snappy, Topper, Ranger, and Longshanks are funny interpretations for Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Potter, Granger, and Longbottom. I am laughing so hard in my stomach just looking at it.

I love spoofs! They're usually really funny because the person who wrote them has to know something about what they are spoofing. They are really entertaining!! I love the MAD Magazine spoof that they did for the last movie! It was hilarious!

I guess that just goes to show how popular HP is now! However, people in the army usually enjoy stuff like that. They have to be so serious when they are working that when they aren't in uniform they live to the 10th degree. Including fun and games! =)
