Do you have some cash to spare? If so, you can bid
on a notebook that contains drawings by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The small notebook is currently up for sale on eBay and can be yours for £25,000 ($45,662).
The description of the notebook on eBay reads
:
A beautiful piece, written, and signed, on the opening page in fine black pen in 'by J.K. Rowling' the bestselling Briitsh author. A miniature, green hard-back (landscape) book, embossed with gilt decoration (measureing approx. 4x6 cm), which contains a selection of delicate illustrations of broomsticks, witches hat's and Harry's trademark wire spectacles in fine black pen ink.
Rowling lists the books he requires for his spells and describes the clothes he needs. She also reminds parents that 'first years' are not allowed there own broomsticks. The book ends with the acknowledgement 'From Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stones by me'. An exquisite piece in excellent condition.
UPDATE: The auction has ended with just one bid of £24,995 ($45,620.87).

Oops! Whoever wrote the description spelled "their" as "there." Do we excuse the typo, or should it make us question? Hmmm...Sorry, I'm just being picky!

I would love to own something as wonderful as that notebook. However, it is sadly too expensive and I cannot afford it. I hope whoever gets it will care for it and treasure it for life!!

Congrats to whoever has that type of money to spend, but I think I'll stick with my $20 HBP!!

Man, who ever has the money to blow on the notebook can pay for a year of my college expenses. Still, it is really awesome and will probably sell for even more money years down the line. Knowing a little about JKR, I wouldn't be surprised if she was selling it for charity. That's the kind of woman she is (and it isn't like she needs an extra $25,000 anyway, esp. with this new book coming out). Wow, it's kinda weird to realize that we're actually funding her paycheck! Ok...must go and ponder this...

Wow!!! Thats alot of money! But, do you think that JKR would really put it on ebay?! I wouldnt think so but maybe she would, but still, I thought she was against all that stuff! It could be a fake! I remember Tom Felton saying something like that on his site a while ago! eBay was aparently selling pictures of him with signatures that he says he didnt sign, so i wont trust it.
But if it is for real, i hope it is going to charity.

Wow! That is some expensive book.
That would be really neat to have. I wonder who will eventually get the book. Most of the time it is some really rich person that is not that big of a fan. I hope that someone who is really into the HP books can get it.

That would be really cool to own, but a little too expensive for my taste! Anyone catch the typo on this article? " own there on broomstics" insead of "their own broomsticks"

Looks really cool, but would JKR really sell something on Ebay? Are the proceeds going to a charity? Instead of selling a journal, a copy of Half Blood Prince should be auctioned off!
