Scholastic announced
earlier this month that a boxed set of the first six Harry Potter novels -- from Sorcerer's Stone to Half-Blood Prince -- will hit shelves in October.
The retail price will be $158.94 and the ISBN is 0-439-82760-4. Booksellers will likely provide discounts off the retail price. Amazon.com is already accepting pre-orders at about $100.

I'm definitely going to wait for the last book before I invest in a box set. No sense in having all of those copies when I'll just want the complete one later. I already have the entire series thus far in hardcover and paperback.

I'd totally love to own that, but I think I'll wait until the whole series comes out. Then I'l have, like, two or three of every book. I've never seen such a good picture of the boxed set. It looks pretty nifty. I'd rather have the set of seven than the set of six and the seventh.
It still sounds awesome though.

but see what i dont get is why would you have to buy the whole set? why dont you just get each book when it comes out so then you'll have all the HP books no matter what.

I want a box set but I plan on waiting till the series is finished, once the final book is written I will have my set preordered.
I still have awhile to go for that though so I will have to enjpy rereasding from my paperbacks and hard cover.

Eh... I'll wait for all of them to come out on paperback as a set, then I'll hop over to the UK and get the hardback as a set... that's backup for when my paperbacks fall apart! Even so, I wonder if having two sets is a bit much, albeit slightly different sets...

It would be best if everyone bought it when the last book comes out obviously. I didn't really need to say that because everyone else has. But it is kind of stupid because most of us have already bout the books individually.
