Jason Isaacs, who portrays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, is becoming more like his character he says. In an effort to remain in character he avoids answering his fan mail, he also comments that he’s enjoyed playing Lucius and that he hopes that he will be in the next movie and that author Rowling continues to write Harry Potter books for years to come.
I'm carefully cultivating an entire generation of people who despise me, because when you're in 'Harry Potter' films you get a lot of fan mail... I haven't answered any of it, so they will hate me even more than they did to start with. They probably spent their pocket money sending me a stamped, addressed envelope. Number four is finished. I'm not signed up for number five; I haven't got a script for [it] yet, but I understand I have some things to do in the book and, if they ask me, then I would be hoping to be in it. Because that is good fun, it's ridiculously good fun to dress up as a wizard ... I hope that [JK Rowling] writes it until Harry Potter is 65 years old and on a walking frame.

I agree - he's brilliantly cold, and that sneer - fabulous! One of a handful of characters who do look just like I pictured them. I love the scene in CoS after Dobby blasts him and his hair (or wig, apparently) is all messed up. Just in case anybody's getting the wrong idea - I don't like blonds. :-)

it must be so cool acting in a Harry Potter film.I don't quiet understand why he isn't answering his fan mail. I wish J K Rowling would continue to write the Harry Potter book but we know she is only writing 7 books to bad though.

It is great the Jason Isaacs wants to stay in character. I feel sorry for his fans but if you think about it, Lucius wouldn't answer fan mail either. I had a thought, if he wants Harry to be 65 and in a walking frame, does that mean that "Lucius" is admitting that Harry will defeat Voldemort and Harry will live. We all know that has to happen by the end of book 7!

I think it's great he likes to stay in character, I'm sure he is very busy. I'm glad he likes to play Malfroy so much you can really tell it in the films.

I remember watching him on some behind the scenes snippets and he had some of the funniest comments out of all the other actors which really took me aback because he plays Lucius so well. Heehee! I hope he makes it into the next movies, he's too good to let go!

I also hope that they keep inserting him into the movies where ever Lucius shows up...I find that the part he plays (Lucius Malfoy) really lends a sense of fear of the Death Eaters that is very important to the mood of the stories.

I love how he uses his evil character as an excuse for him not answering fan mail, very clever!
I think he does a superb job as Lucius Malfoy, and I hope he stays on for the rest of the series.
I couldn't agree with him mire about the 65 year old HP thing!

He's cool. But people spend money to just write him a letter of how they love him and he just ignores it? That's rude. But he is very cool! He knows how to stay as his character.
