Customers of Borders Books & Music
who reserved an in-store copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince were greeted today by Jim Dale when they checked their e-mail.
"Your book will be available at the stroke of midnight as Friday turns into Saturday, July 16," quips Dale. "All reserved copies must be claimed before the close of business on Sunday, July the 17th."
In semi-related news, Borders Group's CEO will be delivering copies
of the book to patients at the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital in New York, who are unable to attend a bookstore event due to illness.

I didn't reserve a copy at Borders, but I get e-mails from Waldenbooks, and I got one today that had that message attached. :-) I thought it was very cute.

I got the email, but it was way cooler when Jim Dale actually "called" me on the telephone and said the same thing that was in the email, I think. The recording seemed more "real" when it was over the phone.

That's a pretty cool reminder to buy the book (as if the millions of fans need reminding!). I'm glad that HPANA was able to provide the link to his audio message.

It is nice of them to deliver books at the hospitlal. The kids there really need something to cheer them up, as I am sure Harry Potter will do!

Yay! I can post comments again. Too much traffic last night. I think it's really neat they're taking books to the hospital and giving those kids their very own party! Just too terrific!! I wish they could do it at all the hospitals!

Whooopsss! wrong post! I thought I had clicked on the hospital article that I read last night. Darn that mouse!! it moves on me -- just like the stairs if I don't watch them. I didn't order my book from Waldenbooks or Borders, but I do subscribe to them online. I got an email notice with a recording that says if I ordered a book, just click and hear Jim Dale. My own personal (haha) recording!
