Tabloids love exploiting (and paraphrasing and exaggerating) quotes about celebrities to hype up stories and increase readership. Doing so about Harry Potter isn't new, and the Daily Record hit a home run yesterday by claiming
star Daniel Radcliffe is "dreading his naked screen debut" in November's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Jenna from DanRadcliffe.com, from whose interview
the Daily Record lifted quotes and based their story, tells it straight:
Just to clarify this mess they've created - At no time was Dan naked or did he say he was for the Prefect's Bath scene. They took a quote from my article and turned it into something it's not.
Not only did they lift quotes from my interview without permission, they did so without giving credit as if it were their own interview... and then took it and twisted it. Yet another reason why none of you should ever put any trust into anything you read in one of these tabloid rubbish liners.
Well said, Jenna.

It's funny how the possibility of Dan being naked in a scene has made it tabloid material.

Ha Ha Ha, I love it when the press are wrong. But I think the scene is more important than Dan being naked ( or not ).

Hermione "Hermy" Granger says:
As if he was ever going to be naked?! Dan is only 16!!! Anyways Harry Potter is going to be seen by children, I don't think that Dan being naked was ever considered! I'm surprised he even needed skin coloured underwear - isn't the bath filled with lots of bubbles? I would be satisfied with just the shirt off thanks!

Darn. Just Kidding!! Of course he wasn't naked. That's just stupid, and embarrasing. You'd have to film with everyone while you were naked? Ew!!!
I sort of figured he would be wearing something in that scene when I first thought about it.

What a funny thing to argue about, as if it really matters. But I suppose the right thing to do is expose the lies that were told.

I just think that is so funny. Anything to sell papers I guess. I'm glad we have reliable sorces for our HP information. Way to go Jenna. People need to know where that information came from.

I read the genuine article earlier, and would have seen straight through that tabloid rubbish. I hope that newspaper is sued or fined, either for libel or just bad work.

Well its not necessary since we have no naked thing in the book. Plus Dan admitted he was wearing flesh colored underpants although he still felt awkward.

ProfMM says:
I find myself really disturbed that adults (the writer/editors of the tabloids) would find writing about a "naked" 16 year old a good idea...actually he would have been 15 when it was filmed... I would assume that most, if not all, of Europe has pretty stringent child pornography laws - Warner Brothers would never be able to show the movie in the US if they had Dan naked in a scene. How ridiculous can these people get?

It's really ridiculous. I wish Jenna could sue for posting quotes from her article without permission. I feel sorry for the fans who are not as into HP as we all are. They would see that and believe it and tell others about it. It is very sad really.

Just shows hey, the tabloids will do absolutely ANYHTING to get a story (even if it's a lie), and earn some money. I'm so glad she stood up for Dan. The media is evil in a sense- how they can rip people to shreds. I've seen it done to Emma.

It's terrible that anyone would twist something that a young person has said, even if that young person is in the public eye. I agree also that it is terrible that they took interview information without seeking permission, probably realized that they wouldn't get approval if they asked.

Um nobody really thought he was actually naked. We just kind of figured he would wear shorts or something. It's just funny because he's supposed to be taking a bath.
