Tabloids love exploiting (and paraphrasing and exaggerating) quotes about celebrities to hype up stories and increase readership. Doing so about Harry Potter isn't new, and the Daily Record hit a home run yesterday by claiming
star Daniel Radcliffe is "dreading his naked screen debut" in November's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Jenna from DanRadcliffe.com, from whose interview
the Daily Record lifted quotes and based their story, tells it straight:
Just to clarify this mess they've created - At no time was Dan naked or did he say he was for the Prefect's Bath scene. They took a quote from my article and turned it into something it's not.
Not only did they lift quotes from my interview without permission, they did so without giving credit as if it were their own interview... and then took it and twisted it. Yet another reason why none of you should ever put any trust into anything you read in one of these tabloid rubbish liners.
Well said, Jenna.

I don't mind if he was or wasn't naked... I'm not interested in that... so, and if he was ... what's the matter with it? I bet you'll see nothing(!) in the movie ... why should I bother about it ... We're all naked under our clothes, so what?!

That's ok. I don't really care if he was naked or not in the scene. (It he were naked, it probablly would not only be rated PG-13..)
(I know my friend will be disapointed, though!)

He's 16. Really, where to tabloids get these things. Him being naked would have been so illegal. But having to be almost naked and wearing a fleash coloured bottom must have been a bit akward.

I really just find this sort of thing to be hilarious- who really thought that he was naked? Why on earth would he be when there is no reason for him not to wear shorts? Its called Goblet of Fire, not Come See Naked People.

I read the interview, and there was nothing in there that said he was naked or anything like that. Those tabloids just wanted to make money, it was so mean to manipulate the interview to be misleading.

Isn't it illegal (aka child pornography) to be actually naked being underage? This is stupid! I can't believe the tabloids. There was no reason for him to be naked, just his shirt off will give us the impression he is in the bath.

It's really ridiculous. I wish Jenna could sue for posting quotes from her article without permission. I feel sorry for the fans who are not as into HP as we all are. They would see that and believe it and tell others about it. It is very sad really.

Darn. Just Kidding!! Of course he wasn't naked. That's just stupid, and embarrasing. You'd have to film with everyone while you were naked? Ew!!!
I sort of figured he would be wearing something in that scene when I first thought about it.

I have never understood the tabloids' need to make celebrities' lives miserable- especially the young, innocent ones like Dan! It's one thing to have headlines about Lindsay Lohan being on crack, since 1) she is on crack, and 2) she's annoying and skanky anyway, but slandering a 16-year-old boy is just sad...

It's through instances like this, that we can truly see how the "cream" rises to the top. Jenna is a class act, and this tabloid publication has only shown the difference between a true journalist (Jenna) and their own dime-store version of one. In addition, anyone who has read (or heard) the actual interview, will see that Dan also knows the difference between one who cares about the truth and those who care only about the bottom line.
