A little over two weeks ago we told you
that it was being reported that Imelda Staunton had been cast as Prof. Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, we are now getting reports that she has confirmed this on British TV show This Morning on ITV.
According to our tip:
Imelda Staunton was interviewed on ITV's This Morning talking about her current role in Nanny McPhee but also confirmed her upcoming role as Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She said that she would be starting filming next year, and is unsure how her 11-year-old daughter will feel about her playing Professor Umbridge; she is looking forward to playing a nasty character! She even gave us an inkling of the voice she may use while playing the part!
We are still waiting to receive official word from Warner Bros., but as soon as we do we will let you know.

Like I said before, I think she has the appearance down somewhat well. Add a bit of Hollywood and she's Umbridge! I just wanna know if she can BE Umbridge.

I still think she's too slim and too pretty, and as I've no idea of what she's acted in in the past, I have my doubts. But if she's into the role, she'll probably do great. I guess I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Wow... she'll be perfect. I hope that WB confirms the information soon. I would love to hear her vocal impersonation of Umbridge (arguably, the most hateful woman in all of the books... Okay! In my opinion! And probably many more...)

I really couldn't care less about who they choose for Umbridge. But I hope that this person does a good job. I mean Umbridge is one of the very many bad things that happen to Harry during his fifth year. Does anyone wonder how they are going to fake the scene where Harry is supposed to have 'i must not lie' or something liike that cut unto his hand while he writes his lines?

I can visualize the bow in her hair! I think she looks the part, but will they maker look like she is heavier, or have her gain a little wieght? I'm not saying I pictured Umbridge rotund, but a bit heaver, yes.
