A little over two weeks ago we told you
that it was being reported that Imelda Staunton had been cast as Prof. Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, we are now getting reports that she has confirmed this on British TV show This Morning on ITV.
According to our tip:
Imelda Staunton was interviewed on ITV's This Morning talking about her current role in Nanny McPhee but also confirmed her upcoming role as Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She said that she would be starting filming next year, and is unsure how her 11-year-old daughter will feel about her playing Professor Umbridge; she is looking forward to playing a nasty character! She even gave us an inkling of the voice she may use while playing the part!
We are still waiting to receive official word from Warner Bros., but as soon as we do we will let you know.

I've only seen one movie with Imelda Staunton, but I liked her very much in it. She seems like a very capable actress, and she really looks like she'll fit the role perfectly, especially in that pic. I can totally see her becoming all Umbridgey. :-)

I say YES to Imelda Staunton for bagging the role as Professor Umbridge. I think she'll really fit well with the character. With a little make-up and witchy costumes, I think she'll do well. Besides her looks, she has great acting skills to boot.

Hmmmm....she will be an okay Umbridge if they give her a good amount of makeup. I always saw Umbridge a bit fatter though, and more mean looking, though I gues they will make her look mean.

Well, I think she's a bit prettier than the Umbrige I imagined. The one I had in mind had a face more similar to that of a toad's. Haha, well, I don't think any person could match the Umbridge I had in mind. God would never be so cruel!
