The number one selling
book in the U.S. for 2005 was Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The book sold 7.2 million copies throughout 2005 and its first day's sales totaling 4.1 million outsold other books' yearly totals.
In other news, a review
of the audio version describes Stephen Fry as:
Fry reads Harry Potter with wonderful elan and if you're feeling snooty about Rowling's prose style you'll find the whole thing transfigured in his hands because he brings out all the strength and verve of her dialogue. There's a silvery old sage voice for Dumbledore, a pretty exact fit for Alan Rickman's Snape and a superbly spot-lit way of distinguishing the characters with the glide of the voice so that you see them running breathless down sinister corridors or soaring with excitement as they play quidditch.
The latest Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is a monster in size and Fry's reading of it lasts for 21 hours, so it will keep you going on the longest of trips.

I am happy that HBP was and is the best selling book of 2005 but I am not going to say that it was the best book of 2005. I am still scarred by the book, and many Ron and Hermione shippers know why, also, Dumbledore fanatics know why also. But, the events in the book have made Ron and Hermione closer, read the last chapter and you will know why.

Awesome, but I always knew that so no need to get excited for me.
I can't imagine how one man is the voice of all the characters at the same time. It's mind-boggling.
He can never impersonate Hermione though, heehee.
For 21 hours?!?!, his throat must have been as dry as the sahara desert in the end.
I just might buy it.
Anyway, that's it.
Cheers!

Of course it was the best selling book of the year! I'd be surprised if it wasn't! Like I was a little disappointed in the book, but I'm actually reading it for the second time as we speak; nevertheless, it was a good book.

There was no doubt in my mind that HBP would be the number one selling book of 2005. Jim Dale reads J.K.'s books for the U.S. versions of Harry Potter. He is quite fabulous. I wonder why they have a different reader for the U.K. versions?
