Warner Bros. are holding an open casting call for the character of Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on Saturday, according
to CBBC Newsround.
Girls must be aged 13-16 and have a valid passport. The casting call will be at Hall Westminster, Storey's Gate, in London:
Applicants should bring a passport to prove their age, and dress warmly - there could be a long wait!
Anybody who doesn't have a passport won't be seen, and neither will girls who don't live in the UK or Ireland, and Luna is the only part they're looking for.
Warner Bros. will be taking photos and calling back girls they're interested in for a proper audition.
For the full address, click through to CBBC's article. Thanks to them for sending the tip!
UPDATE: A video of the news report is now available
where CBBC Newsround spoke with the Harry Potter film casting director, Fiona Weir
, who had this to say about casting for Luna Lovegood:
[Luna]'s very otherworldly, she's not like anybody else. She's almost an outsider who likes to watch people and she's slightly detached from the world. And she's a very interesting and unusual girl so it's that sort of quality we're looking for.
We have met lots of fantastic girls... but holding an open call is just a way of us making sure there isn't anyone we might have missed. No final decisions have been made.
UPDATE #2: WB sent us the official notice, which adds:
No experience necessary
COME AS YOURSELF – STRICTLY NO MAKE-UP, NO COSTUMES, NO HIGH HEELS.

And, yeah, they did say they would announce who was going to play Luna in January, but oh well. At least we know they're not cutting Luna out all together!

I can't wait to find out who they cast as Luna. I just hope they can find someone who can pull off Luna's wackiness the right way.

I rather think it a bit sad that they won't consider someone for a part unless they are from the UK or Ireland. I had heard this before. Oh well, there goes my chance at Tonks! ;) (of course I'm only kidding, though I certainly do wish...especially after reading HBP) ;) ;)

I thought they narrowed it down to five girls already. Maybe they weren't satisfied with any of them. Hope they pick a good Luna.

OooH! I don't see why they're not taking anyone from the US. I mean, can't we just fake the accents? Most actors do that to fit their discription anyway! I mean, come on! My best friend...she's LUNA! She totally is! When I was reading it I called her! And she was like O M G! That's me! And I was like: I KNOW!

(Laughs)... cant wait to see what Luna is like. If i laughed at her for the book I thinks shes going to be hilarious in the movie.
That is so stupid that they are only taking people in from Ireland and the UK there are people in America that want to be in the movie. - Well it is a school for wizards and witches in the UK, so I kind of guess it would sound a bit strange with an american accent randomly in there.

Open call, thousands of girls will turn up to audition for the roll, its not even an audition yet, they're just taking pictures, that means that the movie is a long way off.
