Radcliffe buys 'Black Family Tree' at auction

Reports online are stating that at last night's Book Aid International auction, the Black Family Tree that Harry Potter author JK Rowling sketched and donated
was bought on behalf of Daniel Radcliffe for £30,000 ($52,219).
Daniel also successfully bid on handwritten works by writers Iain Banks and Tom Stoppard.
Daniel's mother, Marcia Gresham, bid on his behalf at the auction & had this to say about Daniel and his reading:
This should put paid to anyone who says that Daniel doesn't like reading. Daniel hasn't stopped since he read the first Harry Potter book and he loves Iain Banks and Tom Stoppard.

Who doubted that Radcliffe liked to read? At least this is some sort of confirmation that Radcliffe likes the Harry Potter series. Hmmm ... I wonder if he will publish a photograph or a complete scanned version of the Black Family Tree on his website.

I've heard that he can't use the mony he earns but i geuss that rumour was un true, or? -does anybody know that?

I'm a bit surprised that Danial bought the things I didn't think of anyone who is in the movies. But it's the best he has the money and he gives it for charity so good think. I d'liked to buy it myself but I have not the tinyest bit of the mony. The price dividided per 100 would make my poket money that I have curently.

Heheh... it's only fair the boy who plays Harry Potter gets the Sirius Black tree. (He gets it -- along w/ the house -- in the book, doesn't he?) Although, I read somewhere that a wealthy Potter fan was expecting to bid up to £50K. I guess he was the one they were referring to and after that bit of press, no one else wanted to go up against him in the auction. I'm always for people saving a bit of money, so good for him.

It's weird that people think Radcliffe doesn't like to read.How is it possible to potry the character without reading abt it from books thoroughly.
This just gives further credence to the fact that Radcliffe is very involved with Harry Potter just like us.

I think that Radcliffe is smart.. he knows what he is doing and he is trying to get a feel of how the movies should be acted and he could give out a few pointers to the director or directors of the upcoming movies.
