Rowling to read at Queen's birthday Popular (5190)

Last month we told youopens in new window that JK Rowling would help Queen Elizabeth celebrate her 80th birthday on June 25th. It is now being reportedopens in new window that Ms. Rowling will be reading from "her next Harry Potter book," this is not true as Ms. Rowling has never read from a book before it was published in any arena.

For the celebrations Windsor Castle will be turned into a theme park with a Winnie the Pooh’s Hundred Acre Wood; Peter Pan will duel with Captain Hook aboard a pirate ship on a lake; a Mary Poppins musical and the Royal Ballet performs in Beatrix Potter costumes. The event will also be broadcast on BBC, please check your local listings.

The article also states that Dan Radcliffe will be attendance, please note that this has not been confirmed & is highly unlikely due to his exam schedule.

UPDATE: As I stated earlier, the above mentioned book will not be book 7 as TLCopens in new window has confirmed that Jo still has not decided which book she will be reading from at the event.

Thats really cool that she got to read at the queens birthday but I'm pretty shure it wasn't from the 7th book.

I don't think about the 7th book, she'll probably read something about half blood prince... if she's reading something about the last one, I want to know about it!!

You know, I don't think it's really like her to read any part of any book before it comes out. I know that she never has before, so I don't think she will now. But that's really nice of her to do that for the Queen's birthday.

I've never believed (nor hoped), not even for a second, that she would read from book 7!!... I knew she's never read from an unpublished book.

Well, even if she did read from book 7, it would never be a part that would tell us anything we want to know. It would be like filming one of those "walking down a corridor" scenes!!!

I support HPANA!

JasonD says:

That's very kind of Rowling. She's always doing nice things for people.

Still, I'd have thought the Queen, of all people, could read.

I wonder if way back in the 90s when JKR was writing the harry potter book she could have predicted that in ten years she would be invited to the Queens 80th birthday party..wow what an honour..

You'd be surprised at the things you don't have to do when you are Queen.
