Warner Home Video announced
earlier this evening that approximately 5 million copies of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire were sold in North America on the first day. Business is expected to continue through the Spring making the film's franchise one of the best selling DVD franchises in history.
Ron Sanders, President, Warner Home Video said:
We knew fans really connected with this installment in the Harry Potter series, and that continued loyalty to the franchise has carried over to these phenomenal DVD sales figures.

Yep,I guess that the USA and ca nada like Harry potter a lot! But it would be a lot more if it was released her the same day.But still,I expect loads in England and Ireland too,maybe together even more than America! That would be cool....

I was so excited for the release, but when I went to buy it I was disapointed. For some reason (I believe it is a marketing ploy) the two disk edition has not been released in my city. Only the one disk version that has no special features. I hope the deluxe edition comes to Cornwall soon!

Canada isn't a bad place, honest. The U.S. has close to 300,000,000 people in it, but Canada only has 30,000,000, which isn't very much considering we're the second largest country in the world; seeing how big we are in square kilometres is appalling, it's crazy. Anyway, I'm straying. We generally get sucked into being favoured along with the U.S. when it comes to things like DVD release dates because we're the next-door neighbours.
