'Order of the Phoenix' update from Empire Awards, BBC

At last nights Empire Awards ceremony
, Harry Potter producer David Heyman spoke about Order of the Phoenix filming, Jason Isaacs voiced his hope that he would be back and Daniel Radcliffe went against the grain & stated that the fifth book is actually one of his favorites: "The third and the fifth are my favourites, which is a very uncommonly held opinion."
David on what has actually been filmed to date and how long filming will take:
We've done a little bit of action so far. We've done some stuff involving centaurs and Grawp, who is Hagrid's 16ft brother. The kids have to act against a lot of blue screen for characters like Grawp, but thankfully, they're used to that by now.
We're actually shooting until the middle of May and then we break up for two months so the kids can do exams. Then we pick up in July and we shoot until October or November.
Jason discusses his wish to remain with the series:
I hope so - you'll have to ask David. I can't bear the idea that somebody else would get to wear my Paris Hilton wig, but you never know.
Daniel gives his take on the fifth book:
I think the problem is that Harry can bee seen to come across as quite petulant in the book, and I don't actually think that's the case. I think when JK Rowling puts things in capital letters I don't think that necessarily means he's shouting. It could just refer to the sort of energy behind what he's saying. I think that's one of things that people object to about the book, is that they don't want a manic-depressive superhero.
Also thanks to Paul for letting us know that you can see a transcript and video (can take a while to load in Quicktime) of the acceptance speech of David and the trio.
UPDATE: Additionally, BBC Radio 1 reports that today Dan will be filming the kissing scene with Cho Chang, in which he says: "It'll be odd because one of my parents will be on set." Click here to read what the young actor plans to do about it. Thanks to Cristal for the tip.

Very neat. It is amazing that so much has been done on the movie already and that they will still take so long. Interesting interpetation by Dan, it will be fun to see if he can play it out that way in the film and convey his view more forceably.

I can't believe they started some of the action scenes dealing with Grawp, Hagrid, and the centaurs! Daniel's time for kissing Katie (Cho) is coming soon, whether it be sometime before May or in July. The part I can't wait to see is when the students form the D.A., go inside the Department of Ministries, and Harry's "innocent" dreams...Just to name a few events...Does anyone know if any new creatures, excluding Giants, that are going to be introduced in the fifth film? I would hope to see the thestrals...They sound amazing, besides the fact that you shouldn't really see them...It's a sad story if you can. And the part in the movie that we're all going to dread the most is when Sirius...well you know what I mean. Harry is going to go through so many emotions in this movie. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is going to blow us away!!

I also hope that Dan can really show how Harry is feeling in this upcoming movie. Harry does have a lot of passion, anger, and frustration and hopefully it will come across as that and not just as a kid who can't get their way. I'm surprised about the centaurs and Grawp, but you never know what will make the cut. Hopefully this one won't be as rushed as the 4th and we will get the chance to appreciate it's darkness.

How exciting to hear about OotP filming!!! I can't imagine anyone else playing the part of Lucius Malfoy either! I though Jason Isaacs had been confirmed for this film. He gives a very sinister performance that could not be duplicated by another actor!

I think Daniel has his work cut out for him with the fifth book and trying to convey Harry's mixture of whining and teenage angst with the fact that he also truly had some actual reasons for griping at some points.
