Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has won the Book of the Year
award at this year's British Book Awards
, which was held in London this evening.
Ms. Rowling was in attendance and said:
I'm delighted that Harry Potter continues to give so much pleasure to adults and children, and I'm honoured to receive this award. I am enjoying writing the last book in the series and it's coming along nicely.
Half-Blood Prince was up against Jamie Oliver's Jamie's Italy, Sharon Osbourne's My Autobiography and Jeremy Clarkson's The World According to Clarkson.

Can't get much better than this. No surprise either given the number of copies sold and the overall popularity. I would hate to be another good book that comes out in any year that a HP book comes out.

With BOOK OF THE YEAR under her belt and a WONDERFUL franchise with Harry Potter I hope that even after the seventh book JK will continue to write. (Dosnt have to be harry potter) Becasue her writing is so VIVID (Because I read in 3D I see the actions as I read them) I know I will be (As I have in past) Include Rowling in with my other faverate authors. (Pires Anthony, Conan Doyal, Terry Prachet, Issic Asamov, and Douglas Adams.) ALL of which has influenced my imagination in one way or another.

It had to be obvious that it would win book of the year. I mean, it sold how many copies BEFORE it even came out, and all the copies after that....

Harry Potter and the Half - Blood Prince was one of the best in the series, even though it was dark and not as "friendly" as the other books. I enjoyed reading it so much, I am sad that the series will end. It seems like only a while ago I was reading the first, but before a new one comes out its like time slows down, way down. It is outrageous how time seems to be.
