HPANA has learned from a reliable and authoritative source that UK composer Nicholas Hooper
will score the soundtrack for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Hooper is a long-time collaborator of director David Yates and most of his credits are for television projects in Britain.
He won a BAFTA for Best Original Score in 2004 for one such project, according to a biography on his agents' web site.
Order of the Phoenix is slated to be released July 13, 2007.
UPDATE: This news was confirmed by Warner Bros. on August 2.

Williams did 3 HP scores and they didn't give him an Oscar for any of them. It must be one of the only movies he has not won an Oscar for. They just don't want to give HP a *** Oscar, maybe because a lot of people love HP.
I think his music was getting a little repetitive, so I'm happy there will be a new composer this time too, who brings new ideas.

I totally enjoyed the GoF soundtrack, and the CoS, and SS soundtracks are really great to fall asleep to! Not so much GoF because it's got words on the last 3 tracks, but that's ok, it's still my favorite.
Maybe...he'll do a great job...maybe he won't. We'll see on July 13th, 2007!
(and if you're reading this Nick Hooper, do some more songs w/words in them! They rock my face off!)

I think the jury should deliberate until we see what he can bring to the menu. (I think we may all be suprised at what he can do.) In order of the pheonix all the way to half blood prince the background tempo and setting is changing into a more seriouse tone. PERHAPS the new composer will do something with that and NOT just play up the good and bad... Harry and Voldermort.
(FOR EXAMPLE:.... I thn\inkl that SNAPES sound will be cooming forth and we will realize in a fore shadowing sort of way that (even despite half blood prince) SNAPE was forced to kill Dumbledor by DUMBLEDOR... and DUMBLEDORE will arise like his FAMILIUR and PATROMIS.... (The Pheonix).

Well i like williams and all the work he has done for the previous films. Although i liked some directors better than but they switched those with every film. So maybe they decided to give a different composer a chance as well.
