Warner Bros. has now confirmed to us the release dates for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in several countries:
The newest dates give French and German fans an earlier bow for the film than English-speaking countries.

Wow, that's weird how France and Germany gets it before the US and the UK. And why is Australia getting it so late?! Well that's wrong. I would be so angry if I were Australian...

The release date for us in Australia is absolutely insaine and totally unreasonable. Warner Bros should seriously think of reconsidering this release date since it will push many fans to view pirated copies rather than wait another 2 months for the movie to be released here.

Why is Australia a month after all the others? I don't live there but it doesn't seem fair, it think they should all be released on the same date.

Hmmm... I don't see Canada there, but I'd imagine we'd be the same as the United States, since we usully are.
I think it's terribly odd that France and Germay are getting it before the UK... and then poor Austraila get it almost a whole month after. I think it would be better if the film had a worldwide release on the same day, but yeah.

YES! It's during summer! I can watch it the first time it shows in theatres! If I'm still in Jamaica, great - I won't have to wait until the weekend to see it! I'm gonna choose my company VERY wisely this time around...

Cool...I am glad that the film will be out then but that probably does mean the book will be released later because they wouldn't want to release them at the same time

Very surprised to hear that France will get the first opening. I'm all right with the date but it seems kind of unfair to the English speaking countries such as Australia since they'll see it 2 months after the premiere in France.

YAY! Now we know. I can now count down obsessively.
It is a bit odd that Britain doesn't see it first, but at least the U.S. gets it on the same day this time. My friends and I jealously watched the British premiere of GOF, which was way before GOF opened in our town, wishing we were there and cursing where we lived.
I can't wait!
