Tony Maudsley
has been cast for the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film, according to The Leaky Cauldron. Representatives for the actor have confirmed
that he will be portraying the character Grawp, Hagrid's half-brother, the site reported today.
Mr. Maudsley has had several roles in television and film, most notably in Vanity Fair (with Reese Witherspoon) and Sleepy Hollow (with Johnny Depp).
[Editor's Note: Previous reports have led us to believe that the giant would be completely computer-generated -- producer David Heyman first said so during the Goblet of Fire world premiere
and he supported this claim during at the Empire Awards. Thus, it's likely Mr. Maudsley may be the voice (or movement) actor for the character.]

I thinkl that he is perfect for the role, at least he definately looks it from that picture, whether he's as good as Robbie Coltrane at playing the giant we'll have to wait and see!

He looks alright to me. I expected like a hulk like figure to play Grawp though. They couldn't cut him out of the movie though, he plays to big a role..

Blah...I really really really don't like Grawp. So I'm not exactly thrilled about this. I was really hopeful that he would be one of the things that they cut from this movie.

I would be very disappointed if they had to use special effects to make Grawp... I think he looks like a good candidate to play the part. I've never seen Vanity Fair and Sleepy Hollow, so I'll have to sit down sometime and watch them!

I think he's a good choice for Grawp. Although I'm not too sure how much we'll actually see of him. I thought Grawp was going to be mostly CG.

He looks quite "Grawpish". I thought they were going to do a computered generated one. This will be better though. I'm sure they'll add some though. Glad they didn't cut it out! I hate it when they do that...... anyways.

I'm glad they're not cutting him out. He does appear in Book 6 at Dumbledore's funeral, and I think he will play a part in Book 7, so I think they're going to keep him in since it's important to the plot line.

It is weird they ar using only the voice... They used cameras etc to make Hagrid seem bigger than he was... I don't see why they wouldn't do that with Grawp.

Brilliant news for Tony Maudsley, although I am not a serious fan of Grawp. I just think he needs to be put to good use in Book 7, yet the question remains as to what that role will be. Best of luck to Tony Maudsley

I think that he should be put in the film then editted by the computer because he really does look like some stupid giant. Like the one I imagined when I was reading "Order..." If it's just the voice well, kurrrr-pluck then
