Young Marauders, others cast for 'Phoenix'

James Walters is to be Young Sirius Black, James Utechen will play a Young Remus Lupin and Alec Hopkins will portray Young Severus Snape in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, it was reported
today by CBBC Newsround.
The trio of "Young Marauders" will provide a glimpse into Harry's parent's generation in the film, in which they portray several of the main adult characters while they were still at Hogwarts themselves.
In a major casting change, Helena Bonham Carter will replace Helen McCrory as deatheater Bellatrix Lestrange, as McCrory now expects to be "heavily pregnant" during what would have been her filming. (Carter was last seen as Charlie's mom in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She also voiced a character in Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit opposite Ralph Fiennes.)
Care of Magical Creatures Professor Grubbly-Plank will be portrayed by 25-year stage veteran Apple Brook. Finally, Jason Piper will play Bane the Centaur.
Pictures of the new trio will be posted as soon as we get them! (They are all relative unknowns, but HPANA has confirmed that Alec Hopkins is the teen in this photo, from a Newbury Theatre production in 2003. Here's a group photo.)

Too bad that Helen had to drop out. I really wanted to see her as Bella, especially since I haven't seen her in anything yet. However, Helena will be great as our favorite female DE. She's such a great actress!
Congrats to both the Jameses and Alec. You are playing three of my favorite characters. You've got big shoes to fill with Alan, Gary, and David playing the adults. Good luck to you guys!

It's funny how much you can tell from the movie by the casting. Since we know they are casting the younger versions of some of the adults, it's obvious which scenes are definately going to be in the movie. And the casting of Bane excites me so much because it makes me hopeful that since he's in it, the scene where Umbridge is assaulted by the centaurs will be in as well.

Some people suggested Helena Bonham Carter for the role of Merope and she seemed to me a very good choice so I'd say it's a pity McCrory can't do Bellatrix... Now we need to find another likely candidate for Merope who is one of my favourite characters! Also HBC doesn't look the perfect Bella to me but make-up will surely help a lot...
