Harry Potter: Wanted dead or alive

When last we checked, a slim majority of fans said Harry Potter would die in the last book in JK Rowling's series.
The informal poll, conducted by HPANA, garnered over 45,000 votes and was even cited by The Sun in an article.
With Rowling's recent revelations about upcoming deaths, we decided to ask again: Dead meat, or life so sweet?
Unlike our last poll, however, you only get two choices: Yay or nay.
Vote now and spread the word.

I voted no as well, but not because of my own feelings. In the intereview she said she could relate to authors who kill off their own characters, but I think that Jo really would rather not have the hate mail. Also, she was joking about writing Harry Potter and the Mid-Life Crisis later on. It may have just been a joke, but in order to have a mid-life crisis he would have to be alive, wouldn't he?

I saw the interview that was posted. I do NOT think JK will kill off Harry Potter. He was desingned to suffer. NOT find peace. (HOWEVER inversely I do think he will date Ginny again.) I also think SNAPE will survive also.

Thus it does NOT mean at all that Harry has to die if Voldemort dies, but only that they can't both live, one of them has to die--though as Dumbledore clears up in HBP, this is only because both Harry and Voldermort will never rest until one has killed the other, not because some outside prophecy compells them to do so. Thus if only one of the two will die and one will survive(as Harry says in OoTP, he will either be a murderer or murdered), it obviously won't be Harry dying and Voldemort surviving (because why would she want to end the series with Voldemort winning?). Therefore, one can conclude that Harry will probably survive and live in the end, as far as the prophecy goes. When JK mentioned sacrifices because fo evil, she probably meant that two people who are very close to Harry will die, and that his love for them will give him the power and strength that he needs to finally defeat Voldemort (because as Dumbledore says, Harry's greatest power in defeating Voldemort is his ability to love fiercely--and goodness knows, Harry doesn't really have anything else to face Voldemort yet, since he barely knows any killing/harming magic aside from Snape's spell and a few hexes). I just hope that it's not Ginny's death adn hsi love for her that will lead him to defeat Voldemort, because that would be way cheesy.

I have never thought that Harry needed to die at the end of book seven. I also hope that he doesn't. I think there are so many things that can be done to save Harry and as Ms. Rowling had stated in her interview,"Haryy has been through enough"! I love Harry and don't want him to die.

One where she says that to end a book you have to kill and character and she doesnt believe that, unless i heard wrong,...and if i did, i am so embarassed!

As for Harry dying... it would make sense in a certain way, but then again not. If he dies, does Voldemort win? Or do they both die? It would make sense that 'The Boy Who Lived' only lived to kill the man who tried to kill him, cursing him, and killed his parents. Then again, I don't want Harry to die! The poll is wonderful, but I can't wait to see--or read, rather--what happens!

Well either way...I'm trying to prepare my self mentally for the end of the series. Oh sure we will have the last movie to look forward to but that will only hold us over for about a year and then BAM!! mass chaos will insue. HP fans flooding the streets in full costume regalia, rioting, turning over cars...quite a bloody revolt...I can just see it.
