When last we checked, a slim majority of fans said Harry Potter would die in the last book in JK Rowling's series.
The informal poll, conducted by HPANA, garnered over 45,000 votes and was even cited by The Sun in an article.
With Rowling's recent revelations about upcoming deaths, we decided to ask again: Dead meat, or life so sweet?
Unlike our last poll, however, you only get two choices: Yay or nay.
Vote now and spread the word.

Me also, I voted yes! I think it would be a fitting end to the books, and as JK mentioned in her interview with Richard and Judy, if Harry was dead, no-one could ressurect him when she is gone.

I voted that he would die. I don't want him to but it just seems that he has no other choice. To completely end the series he must die. This will prevent other authors from writing a story about harry potter in the future. Plus it seems very much like his character to sacrafice himself to save his loved ones and the magical community. Of course I will never give up hope that he will survive and marry Ginnny.

It will be interesting to see the results, and whether or not they have changed. My guess is that he will survive in the end someway, although it may not be clear. It could also be a cliff hanger despite JKR's statements about closing the series. She will tease until the book actually comes out, since she will not give it away until then.

well, put it this way. If he dies, then he dies. And she would have to write another book. Since there are only seven books in the series, then he might die. But if he doesn survive, then she'll have to write a sequel. But then again, she doesnt have to. Like Cinderella, she lived happily ever after. he could just live happily ever after. Who knos.

I honestly hope if JK kills Harry, it won't be because of fear of a sequel, but because it is necessary to the books. I just don't want Harry to die at all, but if he does, it better be done well.

You know, I'm not sure. I know she wants closure and she is looking for a way to tie up the loose ends so that other authors will not write a sequal. And by Harry potter dying he could be reunited with his parents and his godfather...that would still be a happy ending...of sorts. Good would prevail because survivors would "keep evil at bay" in his memory, I hope not for my own selfish reasons but hey, who knows!

I still say no, because Jo always said that good conquers evil and if she kills the hero that would just defeat that statement(though it still works because if good still prevails...) She only said that she she's why an aurthor would kill off thier character so I hope that means that she is not.
